someone on here will know, this messageboard is better than google! when i was at school, i studied in english a criminal case from the 50's/60's in which one robber got shot (on a roof i seem to remember) and the other got sentenced to death and consequently hanged. it was later proved however that the guy who got hanged was innocent and there was a big uproar about the death penalty etc etc anyway, what i'm after is the names of the two robbers, i think they were robbing some sort of shop in london but my memory is a bit hazy cheers!

Christopher Craig and Derek Bentley
Bentley was executed and later pardoned whilst Craig was too young to hang

a film was made about this case a few years ago "let him have it" which bentley said to craig meaning hand the gun over to the policeman but craig thought he meant shoot him.

Yes, an excellent film but (to me) a rather harrowing watch Christopher Ecclestone was excellent as Bentley, it gets shown on C4 from time to time

dont suppose anyone has a copy?? I used to have it on video but i'm fairly sure i've recorded over it now, it's not the sort of thing you want to watch too many times! It was only made in 1991, i'm sure you'll be able to rent a copy from somewhere www.imdb.com/title/tt0102288/
