All right it is mad Sam, but his logic of prices going up between now and 28th of august seems strange - wouldn't want 'em "left on the shelf" would you Sam From the BBC Sport website "Cardiff City owner Sam Hammam refused to confirm that West Ham had made an approach for Collins and Gabbidon, but the former Wimbledon supremo did give a clear indication that more sales are likely to follow. "Clearly sacrifices have to be made and this is a summer of sacrifices", Hammam said. "The problem is that if you want to get the maximum price for your top players then you don't sell them on the 1st of July, you sell them on the 28th of August (when the summer transfer window closes) then you would probably be able to get between 50% and 100% more than you would get now".

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/wales/3640290.stm "It was very unlike Mark Hughes to play James Collins at the back, and it was an irresponsible decision in my opinion. Each time I've seen him play he's made a terrible mistake. He's not ready for international football. This was a vitally important game and he should not have played. I said before the game, the moment Danny Gabbidon knew James Collins was playing alongside him his mentality changed"

then again i've seen what thomas repka is like........ A reformed character is Tom - could be a revelation next season, has finally adapted to the English game, cooled down a bit, and is starting to justify the boast of West Ham's most expensive signing. Man of the match in the play off final in mine and most west ham fans eyes which repaid everything

well we'll see next season!
i remember watching him and thinking he was possibly the worst foreign defender in the premiership ever - and as a spurs fan i saw ramon vega and paolo tramezzani (yeh he was that bad most people haven't heard of him!)!!!

Gabbidon is quality, Collins is a laughing stock.
Paul Konchesky is meant to be quite good though isn't he, tipped for England honours a couple of years ago?

I somehow get the feeling that Cardiff wanted 5 million for Gabbiddon, but accepted 4 million if we Collins as well ;D Sure enough on the official site Pardew calls Collins "one for the future" and we all know what that means Not seen much of Konchesky but some West Ham fans who don't travel away watched him nearly every other week last year and were raving about him
