Tested the satnav on a trip to Alton Towers, it us to a crossroads in the middle of nowwhere and told us we had reached our destination. Turned out we were 6 miles from Alton.
On the way back it directed us the wrong way up a one way street in Cheadle, almost causing an accident.
Incredible as it may seem, the wife trying to read a road atlas is a better guide - and cheaper.

Got Garmin satnav and reg use it for my work. Never had a problem, always taken me to the right place and even tells me which side of teh road the destination is on when we get there. Not sure about your trip home and the one way street, but can only think that you didnt put the destination in correctly at the start, cos they will always get you to the place you tell them to go to.

Coming home from work tonight half way between Hadnall and Harmer Hill in the middle of no-where at a T juction I met 2 guys from the Highway Agency in two sepearate Audi cars looking for the Albrighton Hall Hotel which according to BOTH their sat-navs was on that T junction. Sorry guys, left here, half a mile to the cross roads and left, 2 miles down there on the right. Nothing like Ye Olde Yokel directions ;D

VW Group system, same as mine. Not the first time I've heard that they are dodgy.

Bought Co-Pilot a while back, excellent most of the time but when testing it on 2 runs that I do regularly it told me to take a route through country lanes adding about 4 miles to my journey when I was in fact within 500 yards of my destination, this was despite the fact that I tried correct post code and correct address. After about 2 months it packed up altogether so opted for my money back.

The ones as standard in the Laguna seem to work perfectly - never had a problem in my mums car or Hire Cars !!!
The voice telling you when to turn (a very nasal Ann Robinson) does get on your tits after a while!!

I got the carminat system, and find it excellent.
it even knows which way I am facing, as it often tells me to make a U turn when possible...

Ive got a Navman ICN 630. Used it yesterday while making a delivery from UK to Amsterdam (Schipol) airport. Then back to Calais for the ferry. Brilliant
