It's hit an all-time low, hasn't it?
I doubt if anyone really knows why- but, if it throws any light on the matter, my youngest daughter teaches in a residental unit for girls.
She says they have no feeling for anyone- but nobody had any feeling for them. They had completely selfish mothers - many of whom had a drug habit and often sent their daughters out on the streets to finance this drug habit.
Some of them are planning to have babies as soon as they can- and one said, "Well babies bring money!" (So there must be some truth in that idea about certain- but not all- underage Mums.)
No- it's NOT an excuse - there is something very wrong beacuse you hear of people in the 1930's or so, in the depression, and they had terrible lives, but didn't descend to such depths.
You hear of people like that man who wrote "A Child called It", who have endured terrible cruelty, yet have got through it and become decent citizens. So I don't know.
When I did my P.G.SpLD course, I read about C.D.- conduct disorder- and that seems to be an extreme condition, where people lose all moral values.
Is it a gang thing, though? Humans can descend to terrible depths- like the Nazis- and that can't be explained by a brain disorder like C.D.
What they said about C.D. was that it's no use appealing to their better nature, because they've lost it, they've become so hardened and immoral. So the only answer is to make things very unpleasant for them when they do these things. Not very P.C. that, is it?

It's in Widnes what do you expect? Lenin thinks society has reached an all-time low. It's a dreadful sight nowadays.

However, in cases like this I don't give a damn about PC. My thoughts go out to the family at this most distressing time.
