Thanks Drag them walking up a hill if the weather is nice. The Wrekin, Stiperstones, Caer Caradoc, Pontesbury etc. etc. The open air museum at Blists Hill, Ironbridge. Cosford RAF museum (I like it as a kid anyway). Telford Ice Rink. Isn't there still a big adventure playground in Telford Town Centre? Acton Scott Farm Museum. Hawkstone Park and Follies. Walks around Attingham Park. The Severn Valley Railway. All these are fondly remembered from childhood. Shropshire is not short of things to do particularly if you like the outdoors.

Taken the grandchildren to a lot of those-
Hawstone Park- though could be difficult getting around.
Blist's Hill- great!
I haven't actually been to Telford Town Park- but our youngest (age 6) absolutelyloves it- and he's always telling me about it. There's "Wonderland"- and paddle boats, all kinds of things.
Isn't there a farm thing called Hoo Farm- that's somewhere near Wellington. Grandchildren have been there with their Mum and Dad, and loved it.
They actually used to like going to Ellesmere and feeding all the ducks and swans.
Severn Valley Railway is brilliant. We did that and the Cliff Railway on the same day.
Llangollen isn't far away- and there's a lot to do. A steam railway, canal boat rides.
You could even go to Lower Lacon for a day (Wem) and go in the swimming and paddling pool, crazy golf, play area..etc...

missleading info their dave. Waterworld is actually in Festival park Hanley (just passed Newcastle under lyme. But I do agree that this would be a top place to take your kids. If you type it in on google you should get their website give opening times/disco events/and prices Drayton manner Park is also a good one too.

As well as the traditional museums in Ironbridge, the newer interactive one called Enginuity is worth visiting for a couple of hours- we have got a family pass and go several times during the year

The best day out for children is a day spent with there parents with 100% attention, you dont need no hyped up expensive theme park, walking in the countryside where they can learn and not be distracted every five minutes by burger vans, ice cream venders and coke cans is where the real joy of your children can be found.
Theme parks are an excuse for the parents to say look im treating my kids to a great day out when in fact your just being lazy.
Thats my take on it anyway for what its worth.

With the help of some warm weather for outside fun.....a strip of plastic, some bubble bath and make a water slide, loads of laughs, top it off with a BBQ, kids get plenty of excercise and don't half sleep well ;D

Down in South Shropshire there's the Hills discovery centre at Craven Arms and I'm sure down there's a 'maize maze' and adventure playground down in that neck of the woods.

Don't rate Secret Hills much. Day on the train to Aberystwyth. Play crazy golf. Half an hour in the amusements and fish and chips on the way home. Can't beat it!
