Good bits? Things that did not work quite so well? Stuff that made you think? Items that made you laugh out loud? Let us know what you think, and help us make it better for next season

Like I put on an earlier thread, the Nigel Jemson piece was very funny...that cracked me up and I could actually see him saying and doing it

Print had stuttered a bit on the front cover, and I expected it to take longer to read, but then it hasn't got ALS this time around, and as I've only actually got no1 and no 6, I didnt quite know what to expect this time.
On that point, have you considered doing a small reprint of back-issues, say 100 of each, so those who were too lazy first time/ were too late to order can obtain them? Bung a back-issue extra charge of 20p +p&p on top, for the extra costs of a short run. If they sell well, you can always go back and get more.
What especially impressed me was the fantastic job you've all done of spellchecking all Pricey's work ;D

I am pretty sure we have a few back copies of most of the issues
I am not sure where they are though!

I liked it- another good effort. Perhaps not as barnstorming as some of the previous issues- a lot of photos which either were not very clear or did not print very well- not sure whether the funny classifieds at the end of the fanzine should be a regular feature. Liked the idea of playing a footie game on the NM site and the GP/DOG meeting article was funny.

I've already posted my comments- blueandamber.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1115564625(Hope that works! If there's such a thing as I.T. Dyslexia, I've got it!! ) As I said, Mr Wiggy and I both enjoyed "Health matters with Sister Pab" and Cuzz's poem. I thought your feature was very intruiging too, Dave. Always enjoy the Classifieds- Poor old Duane!!! I hope, next time, we'll have a run down of the teams we'll be playing- like we did in the first edition. Pricey did it. (We'll have some new ones and we need a bit of background info.)

Very amusing I was disappointed with the unnecessary slagging off of Granty in the Diary (fair enough, the Diarist might hate him, but to express the view that we all though he was sh*t is offside, and reflects poorly - in my opinion, on the Fanzine). Also, I felt the same way about the description of MG Sportswear in the "Hates" bit. Again, it's the use of the word sh*t that drags it down. There is a place for such opinions and expressions - but is that the level the Fanzine wants to sink to? Like I said, a great read that is a tribute to the hardwork put in by the contributors - why spoil it with 2 crass comments that might work in the Pub, but .....

Fair view, but I would suggest that the use of the word sh*t in a fanzine is as acceptable as the use of the word tw@t on a messageboard. Is it the word you mean or shouldn't the fanzine have said that John Grant was totally dire? Just interested

Basically its the word. I have no problem with swearing, if its appropriate - but I think it makes the Fanzine look tacky. To have said "most of us thought Granty was crap" or that the MG Sportswear was "naff", gets the point across without making the fanzine look so "Chav".

As I said fair view, but strange given that you used the word 'tw@t' in a recent post. And the day the fanzine prints the word 'naff' in it is the day we pull the shutters down on it.

I guess the difference is that I didn't charge £1 for folks to read my posts, and I wasn't claiming to represent the views of anyone except myself. Like I said, time and place

I agree about the language bit, so it doesn't hit the parents letterbox, there choice they don't like to read bad language so they don't buy it. Most of it is a really good read

Thanks for the feedback.
Point taken about the swearing making the fanzine 'tacky', we'll have a think about that.

I understand some of the opinions shared here because I am always slightly cautious of when my Dad reads the fanzine because he doesn;t really like stuff like that
I happen to think that is how people speak and that is how people write, at least they are being consistent. What I don;t want to do is be a few footie fans trying to sound respectable or be a few nice lads trying to sound like a bunch of chavs, so the comments here are really useful

The classifieds are among my favorites, hope they return from time to time. I agree I think we need to spend more time thinking of funny ones, and maybe widen it to all of football not just STFC and our rivals, but they are good value, and they also give a consistency to what we do, like the diary, and the captions, angry pricey etc etc

And if anyone has any from the fanzine team then they should put em forward, just cos i noramlly do them does not mean i will be annoyed if some one else does The clasifides provide a bit of structure

indeed as i admitted to dave and glyn, the classifieds are my faviourate bits of the fanzine. Wouldnt mind some more comedy (but altered) pictures of Bernie Mac, Wrexham walsall and some yamyams. Maybe a bit more topical? But to be fair, six editions over the debut season is a cracking effort and can only be applauded

anothe good read, just a thought: how about having just one or two more detailed articles on STFC matters. There is some really good stuff in the articles liek the diaries, etc. but a proper article about topical STFC issues might be a good idea?
