"I can't make us a promotion-winning side if we're only paying midtable wages." says GP.
My concern is whether GP wants to buy us out of the division or play us out. So, we have a "midtable wages" squad giving a lower end of table performance.
Is GP proposing the Ratcliffe school of management - as at Chester - where you bring in loads of high cost, high wage players on the gamble of promotion; where failure means a high possiblility of the club going bust?
I remember Alan Durban in the 70's getting us promoted from the old 4th division on salaries less than the division average.
This is not a criticism from me, just a concern.

Not a chance I wouldn't think. GP wants younger players who can he help develop. Of course higher wages means he can bring in better younger players in the first place
