Not a huge surprise. I didn't understand why we turned down the bid from Cardiff in '01.

I think Edwards is a far better prospect than Jamie Tolley ever was at the same age.

If Tolley leaves it would be no great loss. Pity we didn't take the £10 Chester offered for him earlier in the season

i think you are all worrying to much about who we will let go. At the end of the day they are part of a bottom 4 of the league squad and we need to improve a great deal. I am pretty confident Peters knows what is required, and who realistically he can get. He will release players accordingly and so be it. The time is right for a big clearout

Well if its gonna happen at Newcastle why not Shrewsbury And it needs to. Newcastle, yesterday, were the worst team I've seen in the Premiership for a long time. And yes, that does say a lot about United, who struggled to beat them - woeful

Tolley's agent could get him league one football on account of him being and under 21 international

But what a goal from Rooney Fair do's that was superb You're right, but without that I'm not sure we would have got back into it though. It'll be interesting to see what kind of player he'll be in2/3 years time..... ...when he'll likely be at Chelsea, along with Rio and Ronaldo Respect to the Geordies, though. Sh!te team, awful run of results, but they were right behind their lads all through the game

The difference between Tolley and Edwards is Edwards has an eye for goal.
This would tend to underline the reason for the pregnant pause in Wadsworth's post match interview.
Tolley is a player I like.

100% rumor people but i have herd of two people the following and i caveat it with the point that it might just be the rumor mill working overdrive When tolley "broke" his nose in training a few weeks ago i was told that after an argument it was Scott howie that smacked him. Hence Scott Dropped for hart. Not being very happy at this Tolley was seething and managed to then fall out with Gary Peters and now wont stay, and since he said that Garys not bothered if he plays or not for the last few games As i said that may be 100% rubbish but 2 people who i dont think know each other told me that in the space of a few days!!! Intresting if it is true! Somethings gone on though thats for sure!!!!

I think Tolley has improved considerably over the last year, I thought he was out of contract next year tho!
Looks like Sedge is another who is on his way, we'll be having a much younger midfield next year by the looks of things.

Tolley has been the biggest disappointment player wise this season, and for me its no loss if he goes. Edwards has overtaken him this season.

Tolley needs to improve but I also think the way he has changed his game to suit the league we are in. Most of the time he harries and harasses players and has a pressing style of play. If he could improve his play on the ball, work on passing and shooting over the summer, he is still an excellent prospect. Plus his corners and dead balls are good. I hope he stays, but that's just my opinion.

When tolley "broke" his nose in training a few weeks ago i was told that after an argument it was Scott howie that smacked him. it was dave edwards that almost broke his nose, my mate who knows dave heard of it him himself! so it wasnt scott howie that did it

i reckon he has plenty of ability and a good physique but he has underachieved drastically. if gp can't get him playing then it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him doing a job for a championship side within 2 years.

Emma, a lad i worked with over easter (what work i did do) is also best mates with Dave Edwards. Said Ryan Lowe was deff going on a free transfer to chester in the summer, so as to pick up a big signing on fee. The next day ryan went to chester, showed how much he knew....
