I started my first teaching job in Liverpool- and there's plenty that's good about it- but there are some rough people and I met a few today!!!
First leg of the journey St Helens to Liverpool. (I'd gone for this route to avoid having to go part way by bus on the Wigan or Manchester route) Sat opposite two enormously fat girls (Liverpool supporters) who thought I was an Everton supporter and mumbled something about Everton before proceeding to give me V signs all the way to Liverpool!!!
Next stage- the London Euston train- to get me to Crewe.
Sat behind a big soft lad and his girlfriend. Big soft lad had been in search of the loo- found he couln't get in and proceeded to tell his girlfriend he was desperate- and would have to use an empty bottle!! (honestly)
I'm glad I was BEHIND them. The poor man opposite turned away.
Then the big soft lad was sick in a plastic bag!!! Girlfriend was patting his back and sympathising- till she said "Get rid of tha' bag, yew- it's makin' me sickch!!" (I can't quite write how Liverpudlians say this- it's like a clearing your throat noise!!)
We got to Crewe- soft lad- who MUST have had a skinfull of ale before he'd got on the train- and it was only 10:30 am- pushed past everyone because he felt sick again- and promptly threw up on the platform!!
I was VERY glad they didn't get on the Arriva Wales train to Shrewsbury!!!
All the exciting stuff happened on the way there, though! Including two delayed trains and I was due to meet Leah off the Market Drayton bus.
The journey home was uneventful and quick- only two ticket collectors teasing me about wearing blue and being an "Everton supporter"- until I explained that I supported Shrewsbury Town- and they said, "WHA'' ? Did dey lose, like?"
So I put them right about that!
