Apparently during a recent question and answer session Gary Peters stated that he regrets not giving Hart his chance earlier in the season and that by his reckoning Hart will go on to play for England. He also said that the club have already had enquiries from Premier League clubs! Is this the same Joe Hart that I watched today who not only weakly punched out crosses on a couple of occasions but was also responsible for the most horrendous miskick I have seen from a Shrewsbury keeper since the Paul Edwards debacle in the Northampton game? And I'm probably being unfair to Edwards here as at least he drove his kick against the attacker rather than gifting him the chance. I await observations.

Quinn also stated he had enquiries from Premiership clubs regarding Joe before he had made his debut.
Are all those Premiership clubs wrong?
I thought the poor kick was the only mistake Joe made today.
You should remember that he's just past his 18th birthday, far more experience goalkeepers than Joe make howlers.
We'll do well to keep him for more than a couple more seasons before he goes onto bigger things.

He is a young lad who didnt execute a couple of things today as well as he could have done, but on the whole since he came into the first team squad, he has done very well.
This is defo one for the future and I hope the town get him on a long contract that will cost any buying club a mint to get him away from us.

Sell him if an offer comes in.
Don't make the same mistake by keeping the lad as the Rodgers/Tolley episode.

Sell him if an offer comes in. Don't make the same mistake by keeping the lad as the Rodgers/Tolley episode. Not saying we should "keeper" him that long! Just that if we can get him on a three year contract and sell him after one or two then we should get good money for him if the potential is as good as people think. This club needs the odd sale like this to help develop the funds for new players for the future building of the GP empire! ;D

get him on a 3 year contract then agree to sell him at the end of the next season (as Cambridge did) and then take him immeadiatly back on loan for the following season. Take big money, cant remember the last sell on/appearence related pay bollex that worked. We'd also do well to remember that he is barely 18

The rumours regarding Joe are rife, and were given further credence today by Mike Jones' article in the programme.

Think we should keep him. So- we've seen better from the lad.
He's only just 18. We all know keepers make mistakes even at Premiership level.
Since we haven't exactly scored loads of goals- why is our goal difference better than one or two higher up the table? Stands to reason.
The main reason is Howie- but Joe Hart is also part of that reason- and he's learned a lot from Howie. It is said that Howie has encouraged him.
Who is better than Howie and Hart in this division? If we'd had some strikers on form we'd be way, way up the table.

I still think howie should still be our number 1!
I dont think joe is up to being in the first team week in week out. I think we should offer scott another 1 year deal

Gary Peters has really helped the lad make the step up by showing belief in him and rewarding him, and the lad has turned from a 17 year old with a reputation for being as dodgy as a Micket Thomas tenner, to a lad who has been part of the 11 that put together a 4 game unbeaten run just when we needed it.
But Howie would still be my No. 1.

After seeing joe today my observations would be that he looked very lightweight when he came out to punch. Scott looks much stronger in the same situations. However I realise he is still growing but still feel he should not be our regular first team keeper yet. Even during the warm up his handling looked suspect and THAT KICK was awful. So IMHO one for the future but not there yet.

He may become another Glyn Thompson if he moves on too soon.
He still has a lot to learn, and will be a risky choice for Swansea away where we will be under lots of pressure

Not sure that Howie will still be here next year. His wages are a bit steep me thinks.
If Joe keeps on putting in the performances he will be alot cheaper than Scott to pay each week. Gary likes to bring in younger players and bring them through and Joe fills that criteria.

He made one horrendous mis-kick, but he's going to make mistakes - he's just turned 18 which, for a goalkeeper, is a very young age to break into the first team.
Bar that mis-kick I thought he was impressive again. His kicking was excellent and while there is some obsession with some people about goalkeepers catching the ball from crosses, his punches never put his defence under pressure.
The fact that he is very quick off his line saved us a couple of times yesterday as well.
The lad still has lots to learn but he's done really well so far.
But like the other youngsters who GP has brought into the side he will need a break at some point, hence the need for a quality, more experienced, back up keeper.

If Joe starts next season as our no.1 and plays like he has in these few games he will be off in a matter of months and I think we will all be surprised at the size of the fee- there is a shortage of good young goalkeepers country wide

I guess we'd be looking at £500K plus.
Thats what Cambridge recieved for their 18 yearold keeper from Everton, andwho knows if they hadnt needed the transfer fee to keep afloat they may have been able to ask for more ££££

According to todays News of the world Joe Hart has been offered a to train with Arsenal, and West Brom are watching him. Some of these rumours must have some truth behind them surely?

widley reported as £500K. This figure has been banded about on the everton fans forum, cambridge fans form (they had a meeting with the chairman about the clubs finances), the observer, telegraph (online) and in the times.

I think Joe Hart is excellent, and that if we didn't have Howie then everyone would be more than pleased with Joe in goal.
The best thing for the club in my opinion, with Howie seeming certain to go, is to get Joe to sign a new contract for a few years (any ideas how long is left on his at the moment) then see how it goes from there RE offers from other clubs.

If Joe got a decent move that would really help us to attract other younger players to the Academy
Any 'silly money' bids should be accepted

Having seen Niemi and Tim Howard's performances today, I think Joe is making a good job of serving his apprenticeship. There can be little doubt that he's attracting a lot of interest. I think he'll become a hot property within the next 12 months.

Went to Fulham at the wrong time.
It speaks volumes that Maik Taylor, a goalkeeper I've always rated, has been forced to move to Brum, fiirst on loan the perminantly.
How do you remove Firstly someone like him, then also Crossley (i think was there) and Van der Sarr???
No fecking chance, footballs is a fickle sport, build up, knock them down and if a youngster isnt getting first team football, or even reserve team football he is always going to struggle when the time comes to move on

Arsenal is the last place Joe should go unless he changes his name to something French! Seriously, he wouldn't get onto their reserves bench, despite their goalkeeping problems, Taylor who I really rated a few years ago is 3rd choice, Stack is on loan to Milwall.
Someone should tell him about Glyn thompson as a warning how it can all go wrong. He should stay 2/3 seasons for us and if he's still that good then go to the Premiership. He's got 16-18 seasons ahead of him as a pro - its vital for him that he gets a good grounding in the game before makes him fame/money. I think its a bit unfair for GP to say he could play for England one day, even if its true, as its going to get Joe a bit excited!
