I can't help thinking that with the Election round the corner, we'll get a "vote winner" of an election - and then end up getting stitched next term.
I just want a balanced approach without the smokescreens. Better schools, hospitals, roads and care for the elderly. Properly funded without having to jump through hoops to get the money. No more public / private partnerships. No more stealth taxation.

stamp duty now starts @ 120k So irrelevant for anyone wanting to buy anything approaching an averagely priced house (currently 157K).

Really? Just been announced another 400 million into Defence spending. This house buying problem can be changed if builders could be pushed towards some thing less than executive properties.. Jobs at sapphire house might be safer hopefully.

More help to first time house buyers IMO.
£120k is a stupidly small amount for anyone trying to find a place in the South of the country.

That said, house prices in Shrewsbury aren't bad at all imo, some real bargains around. As for the budget, I don't give too much of a damn, I don't think any change would drastically alter the way I live my life.

I like tax credits to lower income households.
As for the NHS, as opposed to ploughing in even more money, or cutting its funding I'd rather that whoever is in power (probably be Labour) make a erious attempt at making the NHS more effcient.
stamp duty also concearns me as does the general price of houses.
