Haven't been around much lately, so I thought I'd pop along and see how everything is with you all. I hope everyone going to Cheltenham has a great day out, with lots of winners. Haven't seen what, if anything, has been posted about United recently. Bottom line is that, at the moment, we're just not good enough. Not as consistent as Chelsea in the league, and not the quality of Milan in Europe. Glad to see you're still holding your own ok. I think a lot of people, on here, said at the start of the season that as long as you survived then that would be a good year. I don't think there is any doubt about that now, and in honesty, the new manager looks promising, and (if he signs a decent lengh of contract) could well be looking at a play-off spot next season. By the way. Having briefly looked at some of the recent threads, I'm reminded about the quality of this board and it's terrific diversity. The 'Fever Pitch' and 'Equal Pay' threads, in particular, were top notch. Isn't cynical shrew a total though? He's entertainment in itself. All that pompous phraseology really cracks me up. Surely he's not for real. Nobody can suffer from such a severe case of xenophobia, can they? I think he's an invention of one of you guy's to keep the site visitor numbers up

Welcome back Islay, where were you when i needed support after the last round of euro games . I took major stick from all the usual suspects and a few others. Major disappointment on the United front but what you say is correct, the current squad is just falling a little short of previous achievments. I think the wizard will sort it this summer though and make next season a much more interesting fight. He will definately have been stung by Mourhino's first season achievments. On the Town front i think things are going well, a new sense of optimism is around and a general belief that we have a manager with a stratergy and the ability to implement it. Again, next season could be much more fun and exciting. As for your comments about Enoch you are spot on, he is a total gem isn't he. When he first appeared on the scene i think most people thought he was a wind up merchant but as time as gone on it as become obvious that he actualy believes the vile s**te he comes out with. The up side of his contributions are that he reaffirms your belief that people like him are a poison within our society and also that by and large the B & A community is a pretty tolerant forum that is welcoming of free speech no matter how distasteful the majority find it. There are a few message boards i can think of where our mutual friend would have been reported.

Nice to see you back Islay.
If someone had offered me 41 points from our first 37 games, I'd have taken that in August and in mid-October I'd have bitten their hand off.
Just hope that Gary P signs the contract and is here for the start of next season to keep the Town ship steady.
It'll also be an interesting pre-season for United no doubt. With the Glazer saga rumbling on, will there be the funds available for the 1 or 2 world class signings that they need, particularly in goal and in midfield?

Hi there both, Sorry Jamo. Didn't mean to leave you in the lurch. Don't worry the ABU's have been active everywhere, not just on this board. Still, we can hack it Welshshrew. I don't think there's any choice about getting some players in. Even the (short-sighted)financial bods realise that success on the field is essential to growth off it. I don't go along with the idea that a wholesale clear out is needed. As you say, we do need a world class mid-fielder and (far more urgently) a goalkeeper. I actually believe that if we and Chelsea had each others 'keeper, this season would look a whole lot different. I would also like to see a top central defender brought in. That guy Stam looks quite useful. Do you think there's any chance of him coming
