the year was picked at random the following happened the charity shield was shown live for the first time ricky villas wonder goal in a cup final replay wrexham beat west ham after a 2nd replay 18,000 fans watched a game at the meadow (lets make a bit safer, take the fences down and reduce it by 10,000) the semis were held at arsenal, sheff w and villa (spurs playing at arse maybe unfair but it did help them beat wolves ) liverpool beat west ham in league cup final replay (lucky as well) everyone wanted to win it though southampton beat watford 4-0 in the league cup and would have gone through it there hadnt been a 2nd leg, watford won it 7-1 Aston villa pipped ipswich and qualified for the europen cup (the cup for the champions) and they played 42 league games ipswich did however win the uefa cup (and were probably relieved that 8 big teams didnt join the comp halfway through) it was round about this time that graham rix had his first enounter with bars this time in the penalty shoot out in the cup winners cup the home internationals took place town played in the welsh cup thanks to the fa and uefa none of those are likely happen again but what has changed for the good ? 2 up 2 down to the conf err thats it boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bring back the good old days before its too late (i think its already too late though)

I did used to love some of the replays, remember the epic Leeds and Arsenal FA Cup game in the early 1990s, it took 5 or 6 games to fund a winner.
The only sensible change has been the back pass rule.

I did used to love some of the replays, remember the epic Leeds and Arsenal FA Cup game in the early 1990s, it took 5 or 6 games to fund a winner. The winners Arsenal then played us The home internationals, where England fans went into hibernation when Scotland came to wembley and the Welsh/N.Irish games where watched by less than 10,000 regularly. That Watford/Southampton league cup tie was funny, I remember a saints player saying "do we really need to go to the second leg with being 4-0 up" It was amusing to hear the score on the way back from our cup tie....Believe it was at West Brom?

Yes thats the one (I think it was Michael Thomas who scored) - it also included Dean Spink letting a cross go through his legs from about 3 yards out David Seaman with short hair and Tony Adams back for his first match after doing time for drink driving.
