I was thinking today about all the golden years that us slightly older Town fans still reminisce about - the Turner years, Exeter in 79, Man City, The Ipswich games, winning away at Chelsea, Newcastle etc.....days when we were an established (old) 2nd Division side, respected throughout the game, etc. Seems like yesterday. And then it occurred to me that with GP bringing all these younger players of 18, 19, 20 etc.......they wouldn't even have been born then, and will have grown up only ever viewing Shrewsbury as a struggling (old) 4th Division club How depressing is that

Maybe with their hunger it will inspire them to bring back those glory days.

Like you my playing days are over, and I well remember the games mentioned (what about Wolves away ) ? I am greatfull to have seen Town achieve what they did and I am also sure that we will achieve success again in the future. What goes around comes around and all that.

I tell you what Im liking again, is the fact that our younger players are getting looked at again, it shows the players/staff are doing something right. We used to be a selling club, I dont mind us being one again as long as we get a good deal and GP is given the dosh to improve what he has We dont have to sell for money anymore, we can sell because the player has ambition
