They obviously coped well with uhlsport as they put up with the company for seven years.... I was surprised to hear that they weren't happy with Uhlsports however, if you read the info on the Dale board it appears that they sub contracted the deal and didn't manufacturer the products themselves. I've a few shirts from Uhlsports as they are kit supplier to the Stuttgarter Kickers and I've always been more than happy with 'em... I think the Dale kits are stock shirts designed by Nike and then selected by Rochdale...

Nike shirts offer Better quality manufacture and materials than anything I've seen the Town play in for some years.
The rot set in with patrick's see through, turtle neck away strip.

different levels of Quality Control??? I think so. But comparing the last two home shirts to each other is incredible considering they were made by the same people. I also remember that we were told by the club that the home shirt was put out as a 'rush job' in the hope of capturing sales for the LDV final we never got to, therefore that may account for this?

Certainly be worth monitoring. If we can eventually get to design the kit as well I think there is no question that going to Nike would be advantageous.
With Town there are other issues such as free kit etc. The big question is whether extra sales can compensate for this.
If Nike wont allow us to design our kit - effectively having to take it off the peg as Rochdale have done, then the fanbase have to ask ourselves whether we comprise on not having a kit with say amber on it for a kit that is better quality.
It does beg the question about the kit, and quality. As you will see throught the Umbrella Group minutes quality was brought. The question of why MG's quality is percieved to be poor does need to be addressed big time.
If that can be improved then maybe we could have a quality product as good as Nike or whoever, be able to design it etc, get the package of first team kit the club require etc. If we cant, then my personal view is that we do have to look at different manufacturers.
I know the club have taken this seriously and are looking at it. Obviously again the old chesnut of lack of staff, stafff involved in other things - ie New Meadow dioes play a part, and we have to accept that situation to a degree at the moment. In fact that whole issue opens up a can of worms which could real off pages of opinion of this message board.
I have heard that soem well knwon maunfacturers are looking at Town. I believe and if I'm wrong please correct that we are with MG for at least another season, but their is the possibility of having an own label brand for next season. This is in the discussion stage.
One point. Southend are actually looking at leaving Nike. Why is this? Could someone find out?
All I want as a fan at the end of the day is a a top quality, that the fans, and players like. Is blue and amber. Preferably designed via a fan/ club comp, and provides the club with the free kit is desires. Know between all of us (club and fanbase) it shouldn't be too hard to find a solution should it?

cheaper kits and more commercial opportunities

I will NOT be buying the kit if we move to Nike. I am not funding the slave-driving capitalists who make billions out of football while they continue to pay young children very little for being over worked.

There's someone else masquerading as you who is pointing us all to the Coca Cola web-site however, and I would be astounded if someone with such strong views on 'slave-driving capitalists' wouldn't be aware of this: www.killercoke.org/

If I wanted to support The Ars,juve, etc then I would buy thier shirts, I support STFC and want to wear a STFC shirt not a copy.

They are all at it. Nike are not the only ones.
Not that I am trying to condem their actions.
And you can't argue they are being kept in poverty soley by the actions of manufacturers like Nike.

My dislike of Nike has nothing to do with the way they have the gear made. Of course if we could have the first fair trade kit, yipee what brill PR that would be
