Didn't have work experience in my day, the law to stop lads being sent up chimneys had just been passed 
Anyway, I had some great holiday jobs, including working in the car wash at Furrows in Barker Street (I was a 'muff boy'
) and as an attendant at a filling station - got more petrol in my shoes than into the cars.
I also worked in the warehouse at Southams Brewery making up wines and spirits orders. The foreman managed to 'drop' a bottle or 2 of whiskey most days - but not before we had emptied it ;D
