i like the quote that GP studied the video and "they had 7 attempts at our goal and we had 14 attempts at our goal" surely we should have been attacking their goal? no wonder we lost

He's a little bit obsessed with getting crosses into the box for my liking.

who cares where the cross' come from?

so? we are one sided?
My point is that we are still getting crosses in,lots of and of reasonable quality from whats be said yet we still can't score.
I'd have thought quality of quantity would have been the order of the day???

Yes, we are concerned about our scoring record, so is Gary - it's something he is trying to sort (especially about trying to get Luke in scoring positions apparantly). But surely that stat would confirm to you that you need a left sided player in?

Does sound a bit like the theories of that F.A Director of Coaching chap from the 80's/early 90's, can't remember his name. He based his coaching on stats that had been compiled over a number of years in various leagues and concluded, again excuse the vagueness, but something like only 30% of goals are scored from passing open play, 60% are scored from corners and free kicks and of the 30% from open play the majority come from crosses. Don't quote me or hang me on the numbers but it was along those lines. His coaching theories were taken up by managers of a number of clubs at the time including Wimbledon, Cambridge United and dare I say it, Watford. What’s my point ? dunno really. I'll see if I can dig his book out when I get home.

Its completely irrelevant how many crosses you put into the box. The point is someone needs to be on the end of them to score.
Hopefully if sam gets back and we get a good left sided crosser in aswell crosses will be coming a plenty. Problem is who is scoring for the town. Erm Erm Erm, yeah thats right we dont score as a rule.
Problem identified.

That's not true. if you put good quality crosses in game after game, you will start scoring. Did you go to the Sc***horpe game. Never seen so many well delivered crosses put into a penalty area at our level. They could have scored a dozen.

Yes i was at the game and yes there were alot of good crosses put in but thats exactly the point. We are short of players to convert these crosses, so until thats solved we are putting crossed into a box that only has there players in it half the time.

Agree mate, and hopefully there will be an improvement on that as well over the next 2 or 3 games No reason why Tolley, Langmead, Lowe and Rodgers shouldn't be scoring freely if the quality crosses continue.

This signing isn't great news for Ross Stevens prospects and it contradicts what Peters had to say about not blooding too many untried youngsters until we had reached 50 points.
