Gary Peters said he wanted 30 crosses a game from each wide player, well Ryan Lowe put enough crosses in for both wide players tonight and there was hardly a bad cross amongst them, and his delivery from set pieces was also very good. The problem was there wasn't enough urgency from his team mates to get on the end of them.Gary peters hasn't achieved too much yet but for one he has definatley improved Ryan Lowe in the 2 games that I've seen.If only we had 2 strikers who were busting a gut to get on the end of them crosses and somebody on the left providing the same sort of service we would have a hatful tonight.

in getting crosses in if your 'star' striker's 5' zip? Because a lot of the crosses in question were low and hard, difference between our attack and the rochdale defence was Gareth Griffiths and co were busting a gut to get the ball clear but our forwards were not as committed in attacking the ball. There were plenty of crosses within our 5' zip strikers reach tonight.

Think most people who went tonight would have to agree with that

I agree that Ryan puts some good balls in the box last night.
Often, in my view, the problem was that we had very few in the area when the cross came in. A lot of times one of the strikers was out wide to get the ball to the winger in the first place.

What we need is the midfield to push up and compliment the attackers. Unfortunately our midfield seem to get within 30 yards of the goal and that's as far as they are willing to go. We won't score many if we don't have bodies in the box.

Agree Ant, although felt we attacked the ball well first half hour.
The real problem was that although Lowe, Langmead and Rodgers linked up well down the right, it didn't leave us with much on the rest of the park.
Tolley needs to hammer the box as does Streety in these situations.

Under Ratcliffe, Tolley was often the one busting a gut to get into the box while we were on the counter attack and was frequently the furthest player forward.
Interesting to see in last night's programme that Jamie cites Ratters as the manager who's had the biggest influence on his career.
That old Jamie would be perfect for the way GP wants this team to play. Can he be retreived though?
