Not having the opportunity to see GP's first signing in action, I was wondering what you all make of him. First impressions, obviously.

He's only played 20 odd minutes at Scunny and 45 for the reserves but in both he looked useful. Could win the ball in the air but also had a bit of pace with it.
As you say - only first impressions though, be interesting to see if he starts tonight.

Big lad - decent touch.
Caused the Sc***horpe defence some problems when he came on which was encouraging, also won most of what came his way in the air.
The most encouraging part of all this is that GP knows what Luke Rodgers needs to get the most out of him, and that he will try to give it him. If then, Luke still struggles, no doubt GP will think again.
I'm sure Langmead and Luke will start tonight, and at least one of them will score.

Looks a decent signing but obviously too early to tell. Dont write darby off though

Looks a better version of Richard Logan (but you probably didn't see him either ) Looks good in intial showings but so did Logan.

Well Luke is no giant, nor Lowe. I think in the lower leagues a big strong lad up front is almost essential. Even higher up, there is a lot of success pairing someone quick and little with somone big. Just look at Owen and Hes..... scratch that. Winning the ball in the air will always cause trouble for defences. I hope he delivers, it will indeed be interesting to see if he can.

What are you basing that on Gareth? I know you were at Scunny but don't know whether you got to the reserve game. It's just that I thought from what I saw at Sc***horpe that he couldn't trap a bag of sand. Pace and strength but IMHO his first touch was quite poor........................

Asked my sister & brother-in-law about him, both are PNE season ticket holders. They reckoned he's strong on the ball, decent in the air and has bit of pace but not really likely to be a prolific scorer. They doubted he'd make the grade at Div 1 level but might be useful div 3 level. They thought he'd been on loan at Kiddie some point but not scored many?
They aslo reckoned we'd made a dcent choice in peters. Good organiser and motivator. Took the team as far as he could as preston but went to head their youth academy and did decent job there until ITV digital meant cutbacks.

He was on loan to Kiddie, and put a goal past Sc***horpe whilst there, or so I'm led to believe.
