Ok then I have a bright idea, how much money would it take to see the B&A logo on the back of the players shirts? I'm not a big fan of seeing sponsors spread all over the place (as DavefromAlty said on a previous thread) but one logo on the back of the shirt wont make a massive difference, would be it worth enquiring to the club how much an opportunity like this would cost now the Football League have passed a rule for the back of players shirts (and shorts) to be sponsored?

Sponsor the training kits, trainign ground or youth team but please don't start pi$$ing around with sponsors on the back of the shirts etc...
Like someone said on another thread, if I had the money to sponsor the shirt - I'd let it just be blue and amber shirts with no sponsorship logo.

I agree with that post to some extent, maybe B&A could win the shirt sponsorship and just get the words 'THE PRIDE OF SHROPSHIRE' emblazoned across the shirts I dont really agree with it morally but STFC will find a deal to get the back of the shirts sponsored eventually, this is the 21st century and at the end of the day money talks, and if the money goes back towards the team then I'm all for it.

I reckon it might cost a fair bit that, I'd guess the short sponsorship would be the cheapest? Evenso, I would think it would be beyond what us lot could club together... ...might look a bit daft the blue and amber logo on a blue and white kit...

In Sweden they have sponsors all over the place, it is the only way they can keep going, crowds are so low here.
I have an idea though, get British Airways to sponsor and then sneak an ampersand in there. Perfect.

why would b&a want to sponsor the shirt?? if we could raise anything like the money we needed to, why wouldn't we just give it to the club like we normally do (don't we??) and let the club get someone else to sponsor the shirt - someone who wouldn't just handover the cash. that way the club makes twice as much.... ...or am i missing the point.

I agree, although would say that we should use the money for something additional that would not otherwise get funded

B&A currently have £1500+ in the fund raising account. It was agreed on here when the account started not just to give blind donations to the club but to eventually put it towards something tangible, so we could see the results of our fund raising.
By sponsoring training kit/ ASFC etc we would see the site advertised for our money.
Previously we bought the GM webcam for Whitters.

Thats fair enough, I'm not too bothered whether the club find sponsorship for the back of the shirts but I think they may well do in the future, its a sponsorship opportunity for someone and someone will grab the chance. I've nothing against the ASFC as I used to be part of it at one point and I hope B&A raise the money to buy a new spanking blue and amber Nike kit for ASFC next season, but its not exactly sponsoring Shrewsbury Town Football Club directly is it I believe money raised by all the supporters organisations should go to the club directly in one form or another, thats how I see it, as long as the money goes somewhere useful.

Several references have been made now with regards to sponsorship of the ASFC strip. It is great that people think of the ASFC and consider us worthy of kit sponsorship.
However, it should be rembered that ASFC already have an ongoing sponsorship deal with Specsavers and that they wish to continue sponsoring us on an ongoing basis. This has been worth £300 - £400 a season.
I think it is far better for us to have outside sponsorship, meaning that other fundraising STFC bodies such as B&A can put money into other areas related to STFC.

bit puzzled,
Wouldnt B+A be best off donating/sponsering/giving money to the youth team or something.
