Hi its me again with my sociology coursework on football hooliganism. I would be really greatfull if about 20-25 people could spare about 2 minutes to fill in my questionaire.

football violence is on the increase and will never die thats a fact and you wont stop it!! you can control it but wont stop it!!!! thats a fact!!! there are now young kids doin it like in portsmouth a young kid of 13 was but in a young offenders for it sad i know!! they have in control in shrews but in other towns no

(Please state) Yes No We just mainly get a few skirmishes before/during/after some local derbies or six pointers, its an issue we must not take for granted though.3. Do you think England as a country has a problem with Football Hooliganism? Yes No But the problem is at least ten times worse on the continent.4. 4. Do you think Football Hooliganism is on the increase in England? Yes - seems that the drinking culture in some of the bugger 'city' clubs is beginning to spill over into football (Swansea City visiting fans for example - the genuine fans tell you that their attendance at games is sporadic)
5. Do you think high police presence at games makes the problem of Hooliganism worse? No
6. Do you think enough measures are taken to deal with football hooliganism? If not do you have any suggestions to help deal with it. (Please state) Yes CCTV helps

Do you think high police presence at games makes the problem of Hooliganism worse? In theory no, however they do have a habbit of upsetting law abiding citizens6. No altho- Ran on the pitch, shouted sometimes foul and abusive things at certain people-referee being oneAh I must be a hooligan then, I ran onto the pitch with Rob Belton after Steele scored that first penalty against Southend in the Great Escape season I did use to shout a lot of abuse at refs/linesmen when I was in my teens but I dont think I'm too bad these days, I still have my moments tho, like that 'diving' incident with Luke at Bristol Rovers.

Only have a problem for certain 'big' games (big cup game/derbie when local groups like the EBF seem to come out of the woodwork). Most of the time I feel we have little/no problem with hooligans

Nearly ran onto pitch Vs Carlise to attack Ratcliffe when Carlise scored a 3rd. Thats about it. ; oh and I called neil Illman a c*** to his face when scored against us for Plymouth in 1997, does that count?

Yes-witnessed violence several home games over the years-plus coming back from the Chelsea home game-was harrased on train home by drunk Chelsea hoolie simply for wearing a town shirt

LOL i too was on the pitch that game.
There were a couple of times in that run in for some reason we were allowe don the pitch-for that i mean some of us went on and we werent thrown out. I wonder why???

3. Do you think England as a country has a problem with Football Hooliganism? Yes, but much less of a problem than 15-20 years ago. 4. Do you think Football Hooliganism is on the increase in England? Yes, several times seen away fans causing trouble in the home end. The worst incident I remember was the Middlesboro fans wrecking the away end in the 80's.
