My daughter is in the process of doing her GCSE’s at school and has been assigned a project to look at whether Shrewsbury Town football Club would rather stay at Gay Meadow or move to a new location out of town.
What are your views and is this something that is already under discussion ?
We are both Millwall supporters ourselves and I have only been to Gay Meadow once - back in 1985 I think it was and went through the oldest turnstiles around - are they still there ?

I'm not a Salop, but we're in a similar position to them and are moving to a new 20,000 seater stadium next season.
I've been watching the Swans at the Vetch since 1992, and even though it's a right dump, I'd much rather stay there than move to a new all-seater stadium that we're not going to fill. It may be needed to help the club progress back up the divisions, but I suppose the main question would be is it worth losing a ground full of character and atmoshpere for one that looks exactly the same as every other new ground that's been built over the last 10 years?
We are slightly different to the Shrews in that our new stadium is actually in the city, but I'm sure that from a financial sense it'd be better to move to a new stadium, it'll attract new customers etc. but it's certainly a disadvantage for the current fans in my opinion.
I love visiting the Meadow, it's a real football ground with a decent atmosphere every time I've been. Sure, the away end is flooding, the toilets are dreadful and the car park always seems to be muddy, but that's part of the fun. Much more enjoyable than a visit to Darlington's new 27,000 seater stadium that's only 20% full and like a morgue anyway.
Hope that helps a little, but I'm sure others will be able to give you a better indication of the benfits.

erm we had this thread a week or so ago.
I remeber asking some question about why is she studying STFC, as normally in sunjects such as DT you get to choose what topic you want to study, and as such you'd study something that you (hopefuly) would know about.
