Never understand deals like this. In 10 years time the guy is in profit. Other thing is you are telling me land in Cambridge is that cheap? Sure Shrewforever would give a better idea of the value.

1.9m? All he needs now is the club to go bust and he pockets the stadium AND nothing is now stopping him mortgaging the value of the land to build his business empire like Shaw did what if the company goes bankrupt and the club doesn't? The liquidator will get the ground to flog! Madness

Apparently the shareholders were told if this deal didn't go through the club would go into adminstration and loose 10 points. Put like that there is no choice.
If it was my club I'd be worrying where this was ultimately going to lead. - although I believe that Cambridge have an eye on moving to a new stadium so this could be part of the deal.

Sounds a bit like Bristol Rovers at Eastville. Expect the rent to go creeping upwards!

This has KFC Nilford(great name Carter) and Wrexham written all over it.
£1.9mill for a piece of real estate with a current market value of around £4mill apparently(source Cambridge Evening News)
I dont know the ins and outs but not sure this deal is of any real help. Most people believe if they get relegated they'll fold and Howard picks up the land on the cheap.
Hope that is a cynical view but you wont find many U's fans that will say that.
