I know i've bet hardly anything but: for the arsenal game: I've bet £2 on 9 or less corners and £2 on 13 or over corners Now providing one of those bets come through, I'll make a proft, reguardless of the other losing steak Hows that happen??? Can you bet during the match??? If so how? Because all it says is "suspended"

Can you bet during the match??? If so how? Because all it says is "suspended" That happens because if there's 10, 11 or 12 corners you lose all your money. You can often bet in-running, but usually only on over/under 2.5 goals and on the final result. It gets suspended for a minute or two if there's a goal/penalty/red card. Watch out for people betting with their hearts not their heads (like me betting on town in the handicap at the start of the season.) There is money to be made

Anyone know who the best bookies to open an online account with is? WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE FESTER For free starter offers Paddy Power is best at the moment, for longer term better odds day in day out Paddy Power is 2nd best to bet365 at the moment (all others hills/ladbrokes etc are well behind as they have a captive market and dont need to attract new trade) Betfair is a science in itself You'll always get better odds on there whatever (even beats Paddy Power and 365). I "lay" a lot on there, in other words I play bookie and offer people odds. Tonight I really didn't fancy Arsenals kids infront of 60,000 baying Mancs, so have offered 3/1. I have decided to pay out 200 snotters if it occurs, but trouser the 50 snotters people have bet with me if United win or its a draw. All looks good at the mo, and I should finish 50 in front. The other good thing about betfair is you can bet in running, which at various stages of a pendulum game means you can't possibly lose eg West Ham v Watford on Saturday 20 quid before Kick off on Watford at 11/2 then when Watford were 2 up... 10 quid on the draw 11/2 10 quid on West Ham 14/1 What ever the result then I was 25 in profit As it turned out I had a profit of 110. Betfair is unbeatable in my opinion Infact, Arsenal are currently 13/1 on betfair, why aren't I securing my bet, why am I doing talking to you

And one of Q Ghostie, how do i cancel an account? If its a debit card account (most are) its you via a password that activates - they just lie dormant the rest of the time - never had any problems

Got a piece of the Manc action, and saw a violent swing from Huggy Bear to the "Other Fergie" in I'm a celebrity. Lost out on Pool/Spurs over 2.5 goals tho. Up on the night, now bring on the weekend! Yeovil, Hull, Luton, Wrexham, it's your time to shine! Oh yer, Ghostie, have Betfair KYC'd you? I've been given a request for certain sensitive documents- none of which I possess!!! My live betting may hit a hitch.

spent £10
got £6.66 back
why do they tax the winnings?
|
|
|
Post by dachs on Dec 2, 2004 20:48:14 GMT 1
Take 5% of the winnings because they have a business to run. If you lose a bet, someone else wins your money, not betfair. The loser pays them nothing, the winner doesn't mind a tiny slice of hs winnings being deducted, everyone's a winner.

8.45 Thursday night..the betting on Betfair is..
Yeovil 1.66 Histon 5.8 Draw 4
Translating that to bookies odds that equates to
4/6 Yeovil 5/1 Histon 3/1 The Draw
Pile in lads, Pile in ;D

Matches that are not live on the tv always seem to get suspended after kick off. The ones on tv don't. I guess its because people can see live how the games are going and then lay or place bets accordingly

My live betting may hit a hitch. Yeovil.......good Hull.......good Luton......good Wrexham...........WHAT who did you mean to back, surely a slip of the pen/keyboard there How come you've come to the attention of my mates at betfair then, any idea All seems a bit random - I applied for a job there 18 months ago and took the oppertunity of asking loads when at the end of the interview they say "have you got any questions for us" I can only assume your bets recently have mirrored those of a pro gambler who has had some substantial big money stings - they may be trying to establish if you are linked - can not think of any reason apart from that

Betfair don't do accumulators (including trebles) Fester, I assume Grin has done them individually or had trebles at Hills/ladbrokes or somewhere. With betfair, you are betting against individuals on specific one off events/games - hence accumulator odds are not possible as those individuals only have a view on that one event/game If you want accumulator suggest you go for Bet365 who offer best odds of the big firms

Sorry for any confusion, I was using Coral and Bet365 for the accumulators, and very nice they were too! ;D
