I always like reading how each and every one of us find problems with professionall footballers e.g. they back out of tackles, they don't give 100%, they always try to play the difficult ball, those who think they're better than they are, those that moan too much etc etc. We always believe, as fans, we would die for a chance to play pro football and, because we're fans, we'd be the perfect pro. b******s! ;D For anyone who has ever played football at any level we all see players who take on the attributes of the players we moan at week in week out like above. Take the ASFC for example, there are those of us who moan to much, those who back out of tackles, those who can be perceived not to give 100% every week etc etc. So, if you were to be a professional footballer, who do you think you'd be? For me, probably Paul Evans - like to think I give 100% but am always guilty of trying balls which are too optimistic! I'd get moaned at a lot by the riverside Who would you be?

The only player that I can refer to is Emanuel Amunike when he played for Barça in the middle 90s.
He tried very hard to impress everyone and sometimes it would pull off, but sometimes it wouldn't and that would get to him so bad that it would affect his game.

well my flick on on Monday - made me Ronaldino (straight out of the San Siro one lad said) but actually my flowing locks in my hayday - more like Mark Hateley with the mullet big arkward striker (ie could ruff the defenders up but no idea where the goal was)

If so, say hi to him from me

I'd be Gregor Rioch...
Carrying a few extra pounds tries hard, but never going to be anything special

Im not, but would like to be Stuart Pearce in his prime, an awesome full back as youd ever see and deadly at free kicks. Personally Ant if you were a pro youd be compared to Jemmo in some respects, i think you know where im coming from

John McGinlay for me this paragragh pretty much says it all (taken form his website)
"He then told me that they'd accepted a bid of £25,000 from Shrewsbury. Hey, I couldn't believe it, I was nearly 25 and suddenly I was being offered a full-time contract with a club in the English Second Division - it was a dream…that's until I remembered Gerry Gow was sitting in the bar probably wondering what the hell was going on! From elation to feeling sick about Gerry, talk about a roller coaster!
I asked if I could speak to Gerry alone. On telling him what was on the table Gerry then spent five minutes trying to persuade me to sign. He tried, but not that hard as he realised the Shrewsbury would be a great move. There were no hard feelings, because that's the type of guy he is. I took him back to airport and he shook my hand, wishing me all the best. I couldn't work out where this bid from Shrewsbury had come from. I learnt that Ian McNeil, the Shrews manager, had a son in Aberdeen and he'd been watching my progress. Although he hadn't seen me play himself, he went in on the recommendation of his son…a big gamble, especially for a 25 year old - but it did pay off.
The new day I drove to my mothers and ditched my car. I couldn't drive all the way to Shrewsbury in my car - I'd never had made it! On arriving I was impressed, it was my big chance, just when I thought a full-time contract would never come my way."
And the rest they say is history....

Tong firmly in cheek boys But hows this The Away Supporters Scotty – Banks – Dependable, makes unbelievable saves, out of nothing Pilch – Peter Schmicle – Prone to the odd mistake has a tendency to rush out looking to get the player not the ball (like the Ian Wright incident), also has a bit red nose!! Gallon – Stu Pearse (I will give him that) Mr consistent, likes to get forward but is always back in time. Not sure if Stu ever embarrassed him self wearing gloves or if Gal can take free kicks though. Giles – Bridge or Cole – ever more and more attacking as time goes on, and like Cole enjoys the odd game up front. Gerry – J Carregher – Finding form at the business end of the season, destined to be a club legend!! P Thomas – J Terry – On the back of a good last season, continued to get even better this, gets involved in corners but rarely ventures over the half way line other wise. Ant – Roy Keane – at home in the midfield engin room, loves to give his fellow players a mouthful when its not all going well, and likes to help assist the ref in making decisions – just not quite as dirty!!! Stu Dunn – Kanu – Drifts around not looking likes doing that much but actually is!!! Prone to the odd wonder goal and heading is a strong point. Edge – Ronaldo – has the tricks, has the skills and can score the odd goal, and can switch to both flanks Pricey – Heskey – Falls over a lots scores far less that he should but always gives 100%. Davis – I cant think of too many Forward come strikers in the game but did Jay Bothroyd once play in goal for Coventry for 80 mins a few years back!!! Out field out own little Luke Rodgers or Craig Bellamey Blakemore – Robbie Savage – Like to get involved in incidents, scores a fair few, and has good passing range Afro – Gail Clichy – The young pretender who’s had a very impressive first season.

Crikey, you've got the England back 5 there, no wonder you're on a decent run of form. And Gerry, the Justin Fash story starts with - 'Footballer disillusioned with life in the UK goes to US to coach youngsters. Then returns to the UK and......' I'm getting Deja Vu.

Lol Pricey, that's a pretty good summary- how about these for the others Dave Owen- Jemson, footballing brain and finds space well. P.C.- Stuart Downing, good left foot and will always do a good job. Pete D- A white mans (I'm not being racist here before I get jumped on ) Vic Kasule Anything can happen in the next 90 minutes . Carter- Like Nigel Winterburn this man will never give up. Groover- Trevor Steven, adaptable and relliable and darn good in the air.

Tony Kelly, stroll around mid field for 90 minutes, no need to bother with all that fitness nonsense, let the ball do the hard work. Loved by the fans too! Drink as much beer as you like, Perfic!
