THere was a time, long ago, when the dog actually used to wag the tail, not the other way round.
FFS. Premier League clubs only play 38 bloody games - a few replays shouldn't be a problem with the size of their squads. Make those pesky foreigners earn their inflated wages............................ Might wear them out and help the England side out! Maybe we should go back to the days when only the CHAMPIONS played in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - not runners up, 3rd place & uncle tom cobbly & all

when the clubs complain of fixture congestion, why on earth are the premier league clubs not involved in the fa cup playing games during the 4th, 5th and 6th rounds of the cup???
chelsea were out in the 5th round, no reason at all why they couldn't have had a premier league game against one of the other 13 premier league sides not involved in the quarter finals of the club (that they hadn't played)
if a premier league club is out in the 3rd round, they can often have several 2 week breaks from games during jan, feb and march.
filling in those blank weeks would be one way of easing fixture congestion later in the season and wouldn't mean moving the fa cup or scrapping replays

Why can't they cancel the charity shield and move all fixtures back a week? We could then have the FA Cup on the Saturday, as it should be...and there should be no rules for those clubs who are playing in Europe. If certain clubs don't want to compete in the FA Cup then they should just drop out of the competition, simple as. I think the FA farting around with the dates and format is more of an insult to the greatest cup competition in the world than if one or two clubs dropped out altogether. I mean, such a fuss was made in the media when Manchester didn't play in it a few years back, I (and I reckon most folk) didn't give two s**tes...
One extra week for Sven, I guess we'll know whether it'll be worth the fuss come June next year...
