And after all Fergie's musings about the "Romance of the F.A. cup", his club wants to remove any hint of such an emotion for the smaller clubs in Europe who see themselves getting to take on some of the greatest teams on the continent. Wonder how long it'll be before the "big clubs" don't come into the Champions League until "round 3"

What on earth is wrong with you people Have you no comprehension of what is trying to be said here. We, and the other TOP clubs, should be in the later stages of the competition, for the good of the whole game. These useless pen-pushers had better get their house in order, or they'll find that we 'the elite' will be running our own competition, and they will be scratting around for a few Euros to finance their own, worthless tournaments. Only Jokin' It's all a load of b0ll0x really

If United had pulled their fingers out in the group stage, they would have finished top of their group = not played AC Milan = might still be in the competition.
It's just a case of self preservation - I'd like to see the likes of Chelsea & Lyon given the opportunity to become the next Man U's & Madrid's.
End of story really

In my book Utd woudn't be in the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE next season - unless CHelsea throw it away badly.
UTD for the EUFA cup (as runners up)
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - should say it all really (unless you've got money)

May be, but at the end of the day, if you're going to win the thing (and frankly, that's all that counts) you have to beat all the rest. We weren't as good as Milan, and would probably have lost to them, at whatever stage we played them. Painful, but true.
