.......we were crap,Lincoln looked like they would score everytime they went forward, lucky first goal bounced back off the post for there first there second came from a cross which Neil ashton headed out to a IMPS player to strike home. Back 4 never looked tight or comfortable, Tolley didn't tackle ,O'conner off the pace, Sheron played intelligent balls and had a shot first half which should have been a goal , KL shot from the edge of the box straight at the GK and should have done better. Ashton had an elbow in his face in the first 10 mins that went unpunished the lino looking straight at it from 5 yards away, RL came on late and was pants also lucky not to get sent off for a 2 footer near the end on a IMPS player, bad day at the office

They lost their nerve, didn't they? I didn't see it, obviously- but from what Dunny said it sounded like it threw them when Lincoln scored so soon. Don't call them rubbish, anyone - please don't!! They PLAYED rubbish because they lost their nerve. I think they need telling off! But building up at the same time. The first set back and their confidence goes- and they can't afford to lose it at this stage!

We had chances but failed to convert, we never really troubled there GK in all honesty, we were second to every ball and seemed a yard off the pace , if Lincoln had all there second half chances the score would have been about 6 nil, we looked to have taken a step back, back to the performances of old before GP over, lets hope its a one off

They didn't lose their nerve when they went a goal down at Mansfield or two down at home to Kidderminster. Not many teams get much at Lincoln, it's one of the toughest away trips in the division. Cut them some slack.

Cut them some slack. It was the manner we approached and played the game that hurts the most, Lincoln are nothing special they have big players that put themselves about thats all.

They didn't lose their nerve when they went a goal down at Mansfield or two down at home to Kidderminster. Not many teams get much at Lincoln, it's one of the toughest away trips in the division. Cut them some slack. No- exactly!!! So that proves they CAN come back from a set-back. We're NOT one of the "not many teams" we are a team who is fighting to stay up. These other teams can mostly afford to go to Lincoln, tell themselves they're up against a big strong team, and excuse themselves for making a pig's ear of it!! So, the thing is -if we were safe, it wouldn't matter. Because we're not -then the lads have just got to go out fighting, all guns blazing every time and give as good as they get and more. One good thing Gary Peters said, when he over, I recall- was that we've got as good players as anybody. I take he didn't mean the squad was O.K. as it was. I it to mean that, amongst our squad, we've got as good players as anyone else. At least our lads can hold their own, and at best they can win. Lincoln are a strong team- but the general opinion was that our team did NOT do their best; they played poorly. If they'd played their best, no matter how strong Lincoln is, they'd have been able to hold them to a draw. That first goal was lucky- everyone said it was. Believe me- no-one wants to sympathise with the lads more than I do, I'm a typical woman in that I really, really feel for them. I don't know if THEY know how it feels to be a supporter. It's like being in love. You feel so proud of them when they do well- and you could cry when they do badly- and deep down, you love them to bits and want them to reach for the stars and reach their full potential. But it's no good "babying" them and saying, "There, there! They were a big strong team, you did your best!!" (If it was TRUE that they did their best- fair enough- but everyone said they DIDN'T do their best!!) They're big MEN. Some of them are still young, I know- but they've got to be tough. They've got to believe they can be just as big and strong and full of self-belief. It starts in their heads. Then they train hard and stuff because they've got that incentive.

maybe they needed a club captain in the back four organising them. Just a thought like.

Sean, when GP arrived at the club he stated he had different stages to impose , first was the defence, and that was to stop teams scoring , today we gifted Lincoln there 2 goals, Tinno was missing, but to be honest i'm not sure it would have made a difference if he had played, we looked shakey all afternoon at the back

O'Connor looked poor today
Sheron had some nice touches but not the fitness / pace of his youth
I thought the new right back looked fairly decent, but back four exposed time and again
I think we missed Sedge sitting just in front of them
We had zero pace up front, and only width on one side with Aiston
The bottom line is many of our players are not good enough and the list of players I want retained is getting shorter and shorter
that said, Lincoln were a decent side, and per player must have been one of the tallest in the league

O'Connor and Tolley....it's got to stop. Now. One is too slow and the other is too erratic. As a pair, they neither create enough going forward or defend well enough on the backfoot. Against decent opposition they seem to spend most of the game watching the action pass them by or trying to play catch-up.

We've got futcher and McCombe both around the 6'6 mark but theres not really any major height anywhere else in the squad. Well theres macauley as well. it makes me laugh when people say how our defenders hoof it up the pitch to the "big men upfront"

Ah, but you've got to remember we're used to players like Rodgers 5' 5".
