Just go to Gresty Road/Alexander stadium....
If ever there was proof that the quality of a team was more imporatnt than the atmosphere at the ground, this is it.
More often than not away teams bring 1000+ and out sing the home fans throughout a match, yet still Crewe produce decent players, decent performances and decent results.
What I would rather have is a supporters base that was steady, stuck by the club by and large through thick and thin than one that was vocal but volatile.
I mean he wants us to jump up and down and create lots of supporting noise. Well it works both ways, if we are to vocally support the team, then there will be instances when the same supporters vocally deride the same set of players, and more often then not it happens a lot more quickly than when you have quiet fans 'expecting' the team to fail....

Just a thought but could the players help get the crowd up for it with a little bit of encouragement. Lowey does it, but a bit more communication from the players goes an awful long way.
Just cast your minds back to Physco used to do it, it used to send the crowd loopy...

I love it when Lowey urges the crowd to make more noise. It always works without fail.

i don't like bands in football stadiums.... i object to being orchestrated! spontaneous chanting is part of what makes going to footy games fun, and once you start telling the supporters what they're supposed to be singing (most bands, no disrespect, churn out the same tired old 3 or 4 tunes - that england supporters one really p**ses me off...) then youre in the realms of those cringe-worthy clubs that think its cool to play 'rousing' music after a goal. I can see that point and there are times when bands irritate me, but then there are also times when you think - "If only there were something to get people going." I don't see it as necessarily 'orchestrated' but I do think there's a danger in getting tired and streotyped. And I do hate it when clubs play "I feel good" or whatever after a goal! As far as Ade's point, I agree; no matter how full GM, no matter how many bands you have, it's never going to be like San Siro on derby day! Salopians aren't as demonstrative as some. Interesting GP should use Swansea as his example of hostile atmosphere; Cardiff would be another, though no-one with any common sense or decency would advocate us trying to be like them! Thing is there are some fans who are naturally more vocal, but it can be built up with a bit of club momentum. Maybe it's because I used to stand with the wannabe hoolies at the back ( ) but I'm sure there used to be more noise and passion when we were in the old (old) second in the 80s. Perhaps it'll start to happen if we believe in ourselves a bit more?

Martin O'Connor did it at Stoke - I'm sure it would work.
