Had really saw stomach and sickness feeling since about midnight on friday. Think it may be from the dodgy piece if chicken i cooked the supper that night. It seemed to be dying down yesterday (had a couple of sachets of dyalight or whatever its called) and a piece of toast. This morning however I've been woken by cronic stomach ache, and a feeling than Im going to be sick (despite the fact that i cant be sick and neither can i loo...) Anyone got any ideas or advice??? man I'm in pain......

You should seek medical attention. You could ring NHS direct in the first instance. They're fully trained and will advise what to do. www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

Dont waste your money on diaoralite, if your not actually vomitting then its unlikely to do any good. And if you are vomitting, its not likely to stay in your gut long enough to do any good. Let us know what the doc says.

I've had something similar to this before. It's not nice but shouldn't last longer than a couple of days. I find getting a hot water bottle and putting it on your stomach will relieve the pain a lot. Aside to that try to eat as little as possible (just toast if anything) and drink only water. Hope this helps

cheers lads, Doc phoned back and said by the sounds ofit, my nowells muscle wasnt working and this would explain the cronic surges of pain in my stomach. So he sent me to go and take some gaviscon (double dossage) to drown out the acids from my stomach. heres hoping it'll work, and i may loses a few pounds in the process( )

Hope you have not got food poissioning of the chicken, just to remind some people the deaded 24 hour stomach virus is about. My missus has it at the momment.Shivers, aches ,S+D And makes you feel sleepy.she is getting over it now taking a multi-vitamin tonic and taking things easy,She used pepsi-bismol for the indegestion, but generally i think that nature should be allowed to take its course, use paracetamol or Alka Seltzer for the shivers, but watch the latter because Alka will empty yor stomach very quickley.best of luck,PS.food poissoning is normally treated with antibiotics.

Aaaah Salmonella is nasty stuff and is often fatal in elderly and very young. Very unusual for most people to be treated nowa days for food poisoning, or indeed anything with antibiotics, unless symptoms are severe and obvious, without cultures, due to massive increase in bugs that are becoming immune to broad spectrum antibiotics, ie, MRSA. Usual advice is rest and only drink water, no food, for a few days until the symptoms go. Has your misses regained the wieght? I have always found a short coarse of Doner Kebebs after illness usually does the trick
