Why? Low interest rates, low mortgage rates, a vastly improving health service, improving crime figures, more money than ever being put into health, police, education. A stable economy I wouldnt pretend for a second that this government hasnt made mistakes, but FFS just what do people want? Perhaps people would prefer violence in northern ireland, riots in our streets, a boom and bust economy, waiting 18 months to have your hernia repaired, sitting for 18 hours in A &E waiting for a bed, mass unemployment. Lighten up you political animals. It was Friday afternoon and i was bored s**tless at work. Someone presents the perfect opportunity for a bit of sport and all of a sudden i'm Ghengis Khan. Thanks all, i'm off home now.

i hate this board!! i come on here to be distracted from my bloody dissertation for a few minutes only to find i cant! arghh!! BNP is no longer openly racist by the way Ian they're going for the more subtle approach these days. ie lying. they wont even use the term 'race' publically anymore, all part of Griffins re-packaging, responsiblility and professionalism is where its at these days. all very New Labour. .. (would appear a few posters on this board must be off-message at the moment then!!)
“Politics is always the art of the possible, so we must judge every policy by one simple criterion: is it realistically possible that a decisive proportion of the British people will support it? If not, then to scale down our short-term ambitions to a point at which the answer is ‘yes’ is not a sell out, but the only step closer to our eventual goal.” – Nick Griffin

I'm in the Ludlow constituency. So its the LibDem chap who shocked everyone by winning last time. Matthew Green it is - i worked for him last summer. absolutely top guy, works harder than you'll ever believe on his constituents behalf. if i were you i would re-elect him! (i dont live in his constit. unfortunately)

I voted green party, a wasted voted neverthe less but at least i'll be voting One thing i will say for Labour is unless something is donesoon there will be an entire generation who will effectively homeless, unable to afford the rediculess house prices, and only able to rent, by the time we're 40 or so we'll be propping up the health system, probably paying some new tax that provides free oap care to old people (which'll be fecking huge) not to mention probablyt having to pay for the pension cock up, oh and we'll still be paying off out student debts, whilst paying a mortgage (if we're lucky). Makes you want to live fast and die young

This thread has highlighted my second greatest frustration. (The first one, of course, being will one of my wife’s horses ever win a race ) Having been a life long Labour supporter, member (ex), and worker, I cannot bring myself to vote for Tony Blair. His Presidential style of Government, constant ‘spin’, allowing the likes of Peter Mandelson anywhere near a position of power, lying to us (yes, there is no other word for it) to follow the ‘Yellow Rogue of Texas’ into an illegal war, are just a few examples of why I’m so disillusioned. I see, very much, Sister Pab’s point of view. I accept most of what he say’s, and yes, the thought of another Tory Government is abhorrent. But… a lying cheat as our (labour) PM, is just not acceptable to me as an individual. I can, very much, sympathise with Jamo’s position on this thread, and not just because, like him I am a totally un-apologetic United supporter . Blair has turned dedicated labour supporters into disillusioned cynics. I think that my ‘perfect result’ from the election would be a Labour majority of less than 20. Enough to govern, but enough to ensure Blair either has to step down, or listen to what the party actually says. It would have the added advantage of clearly illustrating that Alan Millburn is nothing but a useless, arrogant, knob, and ensuring that he goes back to spend more time with his family – PERMANENTLY.

I may show my complete ignorance here , but is that a sarcastic reference to A Wonderfull World You think the country was better pre 97? If so, share with us how? I thought it was quiet an apt song for your view on the government and a reference to the red rose aswell ...I was merely trying to be clever and have a dig at the same time ;D Aaaaah pre-97, well tbh I was still at 6th form and was more interested in women, beer and music so times were obviously better then! I've tried over the last few weeks to be part of the political debates but I've come to the conclusion that whatever party you support, which ever wing you knock there will always be someone who doesn't share the same opinion as you. There is a lot of giref given to people on this board for having a 'non-leftie' point of view, I know they are in the minority but everyone thinks differently. Apart from Cynical Shrew who is just a fcukwit

As for the Sister, he really is just a big Labour voting girl's blouse isn't he? Girls blouse eh I agree with much of what you say Orangemob I am old Labour at heart. True socialist policies based upon equality of oppurtunity and compasion. Problem is, I think the world has moved on and i dont honestly think that a Labour Party that stood with a truely socialist agenda would ever get elected again. To many bad memories from the 70s. So the alternative is New Labour. Give me a rational alternative and i would seriously consider it. I honestly dont have a closed mind politically. The reason I do and always will vote Labour is because I see no other party that comes close to representing the way I feel about things. Vote Tory and the politics of greed? Never. Vote Lib Dem, well I did consider it once purely because Kennedy seems an ok kind of guy. Anything else and you might as well not bother.

There is a lot of giref given to people on this board for having a 'non-leftie' point of view, I know they are in the minority but everyone thinks differently. Sorry mate, but the red rose dig went right over my head I will as always stand very corrected if i am wrong, but i dont think i have ever had a go at anyone for having a non leftie point of view, infact quite the opposite ( providing your not a total right wing fascist). I love politics and one of the things i really enjoy on here is having a good meaty debate with someone who holds an opposing view. Some of the recent debates on here have been ace. I dont want to change anyones mind ( VOTE LABOUR ) anymore than anyone wants to change mine. The views i have are strong, like most other people, and i respect their right to hold them. I wouldnt think anymore or any less of someone just cos they vote Conservative, or Green, or monster raving kilroy party. VOTE LABOUR

I thought forming the "Can't be bothered to vote" party. Where everyone who can't be bothered to vote can have a voice. Of course this is just a stupid idea and will remain that.

do ur self a favour VOTE LABOUR the tories policy's are crap, 5000 new policemen from where and who's going to pay for them? zillions invested in the NHS, who is going to pay for it? zillions here zillions there all on top of Tax Cuts.. as for HMA, saying about House prices it was thatcher who started off the house boom, selling off all the council houses without replacing them,. then sitting by whilst 1000's lost thier homes due to the Boom and Bust years, they destroyed alot more than people care to recall.
