This works trust me, it will make a small fortune for the trust.
SHREWS TRUST BINGO LOTTERY
The idea of a bingo lottery at Shrewsbury Town sounds the perfect way for the football club to make some serious extra cash (a fair few thousand per year). We at my cricket club (Knighton Cricket Club, Marches league) have been running our bingo lottery for two years of which last year we made over £3,000 with around 270 members paying £1 a week.
Now just imagine if Shrewsbury Town had a bingo lottery with the local population in Shrewsbury being 20 times greater than that in Knighton, you could get two/three thousand playing it a week easy.
What happens is everybody who plays enters six numbers, every week what every numbers are are draw out get ticked off as in bingo. For example my numbers are (1)(4)(7)(15)(22)(40) if say this Saturday on the national lottery (1) and (22) come out they get ticked/marked off as in bingo. The first person(s) over a period of weeks whos numbers are ticked/marked off first wins.
If there are 100 people with five balls marked off then its the first matching ball drawn out on the night that wins, if several people need a matching ball that is the same and that ball is drawn out then the prize is shared by those people.
Some people around here have won over £1,000 playing this and in Shrewsbury there could be even bigger prize money at stake and probably more winners. At the end of the day the only winner can be the football club.
There are two ways this can be done and that is by (A) using the balls drawn out each week on the national lottery or (B) having six balls drawn privately by the club. (A) is probably better because the bbc is doing for you and as you check your lottery ticket you can also check your bingo lottery numbers at the same time.
A web page could be set up for people to look up there numbers per campaigne with numbers crossed weekly what numbers they need left to be drawn out to win.
I will honestly tell you that this competition does work and you will make money for the club out of it, I was shocked to here how much our cricket club made this year out of it. Take this idea on board its a winner. Should maybe have mentioned it before.
