I work with a couple of chaps who are stewards down at GM(whom I won't name for there sakes) but they wre telling me last night at work that there is a very real possibility that the Kidderminster game at home could be off due to a lack of stewards. Let me explain. We all know the situation regarding racism in football at the moment and how there is supposed to be a big effort to stamp it out of football. However the STFC board seem to be dragging there heals over this issue. We all know a certain group of individuals(one chap in particular) who week in week out continue to shout racist abuse.Apart from a couple of messages over the tannoy nothing else appears to be done to stamp this out. There are a large number of stewards who have reported individuals over the last few weeks only for nothing to be done by the club.As one of my work mates said last night "if you hand over a few quid to the club you seem to be able to get away with murder" Come on STFC sort this out because there is a very real possibility we could be making headlines for all of the wrong reasons.

The game will go ahead but if the club will have to pay for pro stewards, so the lesson might have to be learn't where it hurts ££££

So is there a lack of stewards, because some have quit because of the situation they are put in?

Refer to the last programme and Mrs Shone's article. That would indicate to me that doing nothing is not an option.

To be honest i haven't heard any racist abuse (not to say there hasn't been), but the other week i found it rather bizarre that that the P.A. system announced that someone was being racist on the wakeman end. I was stood behind the goal i heard not a whisper, everyone stood around in this area was shocked as they had heard nothing either, was this a publicity stunt? Was the person who said it caught and delt with? I also stand to the left of the buffet (not by the little thugs by the buffet, but by the gang way a bit further on) and if its those who you are talking about being racist, then grab hold of them or grab a steward and say look chuck this little barsteward out hes being racist, if theres more than five of you stood there when its said then you can do something about it, intermingle with them, they wont like it, it may cause a fight but at least your trying to do something about it. Another way would be to have 10 or so old bill intermingling in with them every week, you wouldn't hear a squeek. To be honest i hear more people moaning about it than i do hearing it, apart from the Spain Vs England Match when the whole world could have heard it, I have not heard it a that level anywhere before or you could ask the club for permission to take a camcorder into the ground and film them or get a undercover bbc documentary team like Donald Macytyre or something like that. To be honest thats gone to far, me myself would go up a grab him, take him to a steward and be done with him. There more than one way to catch a fish.

Unless you are some sort of lunatic, you would not grab the individuals I'm thinking of. These aren't kids.

Last season when none of this racism was happening to my knowledge except the odd chant that got drowned out by boo's, the local police were walking up and down the touchlines with a video camera, don't make sense to me !!

I'm sure the police could do more in this situation rather than be paid to watch a match
