A very solid display. First half we weren't particularly fluent but made 3 or 4 chances that we hit the target with and really should have scored at least once. Second half we totally bossed it. They never got in behind us and we had another couple of chances. Still much work to be done on the quality in final third though. Howie made one fantastic save first half, the type that gets you points - if it goes in, you can go on and lose 2 or 3 nil. Ashton was terrific - he's a real find. Overall, a valuable point and we need to maintain this form over the next 3 games to try and keep or even extend the 7 point gap. Good support tonight

There's not too many worries defensively it seems to me.

There's not too many worries defensively it seems to me. None. Especially when you're playing with 8 of them on the pitch in your starting X1 Seriously, although Bury are clearly struggling, I can't remember a time we went away in the League and looked so comfortable defensively for 90 minutes. Howie cleared everything in the last 18 yards of the pitch, Walton won everything in the air, and Whitehead, Moss and Challis (aside from one slip) were equally solid. The organisation was excellent - it is just at the other end where we desperately need Luke to regain his finishing touch (no one else is capable of it).

How did the strikers play? Gerry mentioned in the commentary that Rodgers looked a little sharper than of late

I'd be incredibly worried that you didn't win at Gigg Lane tonight as somehow we managed to find eleven player but none of them had any idea who anybody else was judging by that performance.
You'll never get an easier chance all season (perhaps EVER watching Shrewsbury Town) to pick up three away points. We put it on a plate for you but you couldn't step up a gear to go and take them.
We made it so easy for you, our players were like Whores.

Naff game to be honest, scrapy without much skill on display.
Bury were really there for the taking, they were awful but we couldnt find a killer touch in front of goal again. thier keeper made some good but comfortable saves.
Im sure if we would have had Tolley and OConnor in midfield we would have won. During the game we had three converted defenders in midfield Moss, Ashton, and Sedge the latter two slightly out of thier depth in my opinion. Lack of midfield quality prevented us from getting all 3 points.

i'm happy with an away point
it was important to not let them get further ahead
Howie's save was outstanding, the ball was nearly behind him and he got a full hand to it
We had our chances and in another game it could have been a 1-0 or 2-0 but if we don't concede goals we will stay up.
