One or two of you were going to try and lose a bit of weight. Is it working? I'm finding it really hard going. Mr Wiggy is very food-orientated, and it's hard to munch rabbit food while he scoffs all the tasty stuff, like pork sweet and sour- I'm doing that tonight. (A bit of a cheat this time-I've got a ready made sauce!) We just love tasty, highly flavoured food. I did a Mexican meal last week- enchiladas- mmm!! I AM trying to do more exercise and amazingly, I've managed to go on a bike ride and NOT end up in a heap and breathless. (So I must be fitter than I look!!!) It's been distastrous for my weight - the combination of a sedentary job, being on here too much!!!- and driving everywhere instead of walking to bus stops, or cycling to work when I worked here in the village. I'd have to eat nothing but lettuce leaves!! I've got ZILCH will power, though. The only way I've really done well at losing weight is when I've done sponsership things. Should I do a sponsered weight -loss and ask friends and family to sponser me- and give it to one of you at B&A for Club funds? It won't be huge bucks- but it will help me to get motivated!!

I was not going to bother then suddenley i got some motivation recenlty and i have actually been trying quite hard (KFC free since the new year !!!) Lots of water not much food and we just got a proper treadmill at out house so i will on that loads (with all the football) - Also these massive long hours mean that by the time i get home its to late to eat so i miss out on a meal every day!!!! I tink my fitness has imporved quite a bit since The New year - i even out ran faginy from C21 to Liquid the other night - we still never got in mind and Ty was not even breathing heavey

I'm not doing at all well in my efforts. But then Wiggy you know where and what I eat just before the match - so I suppose my willpower is zilch!!!!!!!!!

I have to lose a stone to be able to do the parachute jump I was given for a christmas present.
Ive joined a gym, and go most nights, doing a programme sorted out for me by one of the staff at the gym, aimed purely at weight loss and muscle toning.
I have 10 pounds to go, but Im confident of making it.
Macdonalds shares have fallen though.

Out of interest Phil, what sort of training do you do on that fitness program - is it a lot of low-capacity cardio work or soemthing different?

The dreaded all-day breakast challenge! (I actually DID eat a whole one once!) BUT- Leah, who only asked for a chicken sandwich and a drink, ended up scoffing my bacon and toast (making a "bacon butty"!!) So, I suppose she did me a favour, really. (Look how slim she is- it's not fair, is it?)

I'm doing ok, eating loads but sticking to 3 square meals a day and nothing at all inbetween, plus still getting plenty of exercise.
I would have thought missing meals isn't a great idea and that eating 3 healthier meals a day would be a much better idea to be honest.

When I was training for the London Marathon a few years back, I lost so much weight that my Mum was convinced I had cancer and was keeping it from her.

Out of interest Phil, what sort of training do you do on that fitness program - is it a lot of low-capacity cardio work or soemthing different? 15 minutes on an exercise bike at heart rate of 144 (fat burning) Weights, machines, light weights fast repititions (6 kits in all) 5 minutes rowing machine 15 minutes treadmill at 144 heart rate again.

Anyone know how accurate the calory burner measures are on gym equipment? I noticed tonight that in the same time period I burned 10 times as many calories on the cross trainer as the bikes, seems excessive that...

not sure about the accuracy, Ant, except that I have an exercise bike at home for days I dont go to the gym, and if I do the resistance and RPM the same as at the gym I get similar results.
I cant use cross trainers. they make me travelsick....

I've managed to lose exactly a stone since new year just by changing my diet totally. No crisps, chocolate, fast food etc etc, just lots of pasta, rice chicken and fish and fresh fruit and veg by the bucketload. I now cycle 4-5 miles a day at least and the dog has never walked so far. Mrs Skinner LEAVING ME FOR HER COUSIN WHO IS 15 YEARS HER SENIOR PROBABLY HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT ASWELL .TALK ABOUT KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY. Anyway now tip the scales at 15 stone 10lb.looking to get down to around 14 1/2 stone
