I hold my hands up and admit that I can get really, really down when things are going badly and the spectre of the dreaded drop looms up again. BUT!!! Encouraged by one VERY positive lady- there were four of us, today in the Wakeman Stand who all sat together determined to shout encouragement and to drown out any negative abusive comments that might arise from behind us. The atmosphere on The Riverside is usually great- today it started quiet- but got better and better. OF COURSE it helps the players to be encouraged rather than criticized all the time. I'm SURE it helps them to hold their nerve and keep up the pressure on the opposition. If things go wrong- isn't it usually in the first nervous minutes? It was a big game for them- tension was in the air. Again- if they're a goal down, confidence can be lost. Bit today- that didn't happen. When they win three points for us, and add to the total of goals. No matter if it's not perfect- let's show our appreciation.

When the second goal went in you could see the confidence in the players come out.
