No it is not TBH Glyn. Tren my throw some light on it though. They have spent some serious money in Jan and not offloaded. I would think they need to get into Europe to recoup. Daniel Levy does not look like the sort to put his hand in his pocket. This ENIC lot have owned them a while, so why start spending now in an attempt to get into Europe. Some of the players they have signed are cup tied so the FA Cup side will be basically what they have already

Yeh theres a lot of money been spent.
But spurs are owned by ENIC who have quite a few resources.
Also I think last season there was a share issue which raised about £15mil, but wasn't all spent before, so some of the money will be that.
Also although the fee for Reid and Dawson is £8mil, I'm wondering whether any of that is linked to appearances and future success. There have been a lot of new signings but apart from those 2, the rest aren't for a lot of money. Mido is on loan, the reserve keeper has come for a low fee and 3 of the others are under 21's.
Another possible reason is that spurs have gotten a lot of players of the books in the last year who were probably or very high wages - carr, anderton, keller, ziege, rebrov - where as the the players that have been signed are in the main up and coming players not on as higher wages.

although Mido was only warming up - he has a cracking left foot. I thought it was Ian Woan with a sun tan!

think we'll see Mido in action soon what with Kanoute being suspended.
I forgot, although we didn't sell anyone in the window, Redknapp has also gone, so that'll save on wages and medical bills

Eddie Silva Sousa has also gone but not a major loss on the wage bill - I'd imagine.
Do you ever get to see them Tren?

whats the situation at the back there? Unfortunate enough to have Naybet and Pamarot in my dream team, neither featured last night. I know Pamarot is dreadful, but is Naybet injured or what?

Not sure what the details of the Mido transfer are, but earlier this season Carr was sold to Newcastle for £2mil and Doherty to Norwich for a million also
Don't really get to see them pete, would like to see a bit more of them

Naybet is injured and was 50/50 to play last night. As for paramot he hasnt featured in the last few games, and has been fit. Jol was looking to off load him in the window but nothing came about it, would imagine there is a personality clash between him and Jol. For those who havent been to the reebok its well worth a visit!

It doesn't matter who "the Hairdressers" play in their team they are still a bunch of big girls who's egos are balloons inflated by the ferocious amount of hot air eminating from the 30,000 saucepans who go to White Stick Lane.

It does indeed appear that the hairdresser's are splashing the cash in a desperate attempt at securing a european place for next year, but it will all be in vain.
Spurs are an average english club that have dined out for decades on the fact that they had a three year golden period 40 years ago.
They are in the position they deserve to be in and any dreams of competing with the serious contenders for major honours are deluded. Any player who emerges as a real star leaves as soon as possible as they know that in real terms Spurs are just bit part players and that the club lacks ambition.
