Following on from the Sky Sport thread, apart from Tina Turners simply the best , does anyone remember Town ever coming out to a different tune than catch us if you can? Remember it being played when i first started going in the early 70s, what about before then. One thing i wouldnt change even at the new ground, but does anyone have any suggestions on a new theme tune? REMs everybody hurts sums up my general mood after most games.

Europe.
Final Countdown, they even brought it back for a big game sometime in the last couple of years.
Do we still run out to catch us if you can???
I only ask because there seems to be another tune thats played a lot whilst the players run out (dont know what its called)

We don't run out to catch us if you can its only played for a few seconds before the game! Not on! We have that dee-duh-dee-duh tune instead, terrrible, simply terrible! Also I don't like it when the PA trys to cute playing 'relavant tunes' like can't get no satisfaction or we gott aget outta this place. JUST TELL US THE OTHER DIV3. SCORES!

What a shock - people are moaning again!!!
we do run out to catch us if you can and we also play tom hark and the piranahs just prior to that but it is a bit difficult to get it right all the time as somtimes the players are out at 2.58, some weeks its 2.56 and other weeks they are late at 3.01 - its a fine line but we try our best to get it close - if you think you can do better fair enough!!
Also with the half time scores - we aren't trying to have any meaning with the song played at halftime - its just people reading into things and often the halftime scores aren't in as soon as half time goes at the meadow so youhave to be a little patient but in comparison to othr grounds we go to i think you get quite a comprehensive reults service at half time and full time - dad finds it hard getting al the results collated and hardly gets to see any of the match somedays when it is busy re scores and also getting cricket and rugby results for you off the radio and the teletext
as you can see this annoys me slightly when you dont take these things into account (taffy) but then i guess you cant please all the people all the time

internet - luck if thephone works up there!!Thats the hope for the new ground but thats if they ever ask
To be honese i recon the old man does a good job up there with ryan seeing as they don't get a peeny for their time and havent missed a game between them in years - holidays are even arranged around the club - not bad for a volunteer in my eyes!

The Guys in the PA box do a great job, its about time the club supplied them with an internet connection and laptop up there for the scores though.
My choice of "run out" music is, and always will be, Blitzkrieg Bop by the Ramones.
Great singalong song, and it sounds great to create an atmosphere. It works at Newcastle United.

I'll see if I can track down 'Blitzkrieg Bop' for a future compilation. Can't guarantee that they'll play it when the teams come out, though, but it's my compilations that you've been listening to this season.
I've also located a Springsteen track for HarmerHill Shrew...

We need a tune that that everyone will associate with the club. Whne i hear the Dave Clark tune "Glad all Over" i associate that with Crystal Palace and Blackpool. i was at the LDV final last year and they played it at the en and every single Blackpool fan sang it out, it was brilliant, eben i sang it (i was in the Blackpool end, mates are Blackpool fans).
We need a tune like that with a catchy chorus to get the crwod singing. To play just before teams come out, and at the end of the game.

Hey don't knock it, a mate of mine is a Wigan fan and they play 'You are my sunshine'!!! Imagine that getting the crowd going at our place. I would suggest Help by the Beatles As long as it is not 'Going Down' by Sugarpuss we should be ok

I might be getting a bit forgetful in my old age... but didn't we come out to 'No More Heroes' by the stranglers a few years ago. Like the idea of the Ramones though

All I wish is they'd turn the ruddy PA system down a bit. Darn things deafening. Saw loads of people on Riverside saturday putting their hands over their ears.

i remember 'fanfare for the common man' by emerson lake and palmer, i think. and wasn't it mark smith who wanted more inspiring tunes? we then had a few weeks of post punk stuff b4 eventually we decided 'catch us . . ' was the only one for us.
