I am very much Blue and Amber, but as a one off for our last season at Gay Meadow, never to be repeated, I think it would be a great idea to commemorate 95 years at GM and STFC would sell loads. What do you think?

would we get assurances that we would go back to blue and amber???
What about a blue and amber quartered shirt with wlue shorts and white socks?
I know the board have done a lot of rthe club, but no disrespect, I just don't have the faith in them that they would allow us to move back to b+a
could the away shirt then be blue and amber for one season?

Sounds like a good idea but a couple of points spring to mind..
1) Would it be sold at full price (£39.99), if so, its a lot of money to spend just for 1 season
2) If it did go ahead, it would be a great opportunity to start the 2006/2007 season with a new home and away shirt by a decent manufacturer

I'd definatly buy one if i was promised a blue and amber shirt from then on.
Really don't like the prospect of turning to Blue and White full time but it would be a nice way round of the Gay Meadow experience.

I have a fear of looking like a Bristol Rovers fan.
Has this design been submitted?

The kit design which is currently being voted for would be for season 2006/7 to 2007/8 and an old blue and white quarters with the old style laced collars for next season only.

If a return to Blue and Amber was 100% guaranteed then I'd buy one

No! Don't want to look like Blackburn used to or Bristol Rovers. Also I hate quarters with a passion

I think it would be a bit too late for this idea to get off the ground now as much as I like the idea, arent the 3 selected choices of the new home shirt design going to be shown in this Saturday's programme as indicated in the timescale?

Yes but these could be the choice for the 2 seasons from 2006/7

I am pretty sure the competition was for the next home kit
it would be pretty harsh on all the people who have entered (especially the kids) if we moved the goalposts now
I would rather have a quartered retro style shirt in the colours, with a spcial badeg and stuff. Toffs must produce them for other clubs, so changing the badge wouldn't be rocket science

TBH, How do you know that a blue & white quartered shirt wasn't entered. That is not what you suggested though you said we could use the kit design competition a year later

That is not what you suggested though you said we could use the kit design competition a year later yes I did, but why should'nt goalposts be moved if the majority agreed, hence me finding out if there is on this poll. Debating on issues in general the problem these days is that to many people accept what they hear as being set in stone when it may not be the case and a better conclusion may be achieved if it is challenged.

I totally disagree that I am just accepting in stone what has been said however, after a long and open debate within the umbrella group and design competition was launched publicly this offered fans the chance to have a design done if this is now delayed or cancelled I think that would reflect poorly ont he football club I am all for a quartered shirt if ti wins, or a retro shirt, or anything else for that matter that raises money but I don;t think we can offer fans one thing and then move the goalposts, otherwsie all the old arguments and disappointments will come flooding back

I doubt I would want to spend £40 looking like a Bristol Rovers supporter. And I certainly wouldn't spend that sort of cash on a shirt that would only be 'in date' for one season.

The reasoning behind havinga blue and white quartered shirt is that it is believed - see Breathe on em Salop and Matt Ashtons website - that Town played in this kit in the first season at GM in 1910.
The question Rob is asking is, and it hypothetcial at this stage, bareing in mind the kit comp currently taking place, that if it was produced as a one season special, just as Arsenal are doing with their claret kit, would fans by it.
If a straw poll majority would, it could be something that is commercial viable.
The kit comp is contiuning. Sources unnamed have mentioned to me that some further discussion is taking with regards the designs at club level. I saw them last night and I have to say they are brilliant, and I have to say nearly 90% were blue and amber.
Rob's question is a good way of getting an instance response from you guys and girls on B and A. That's how well regarded you lot are. Use your influence.

As I don't usually buy football shirts, my view is not very important from a commercial viewpoint, but I think it would just be more mucking about and confusion. We can't keep moving from blue & white to blue & amber and back again.
Get a good blue & amber design and stick to it for 2 years.

absolutley not. I'm with ExKeeper - wouldnt buy a blue/white shirt, especially not a 'quartered' design.

You asked for an opinion so I gave it how is that PC? Fans have campaigned for at least 5 years to have a say in the design of our kit. to then turn around and say we want something different is going to make us look pretty stupid in my opinion

They could just keep on with competition and when it comes to announcing the finalists, include the option of a blue and white quarted comemorative shirt (special badge and all) for one season as well and see how people vote

NO. If its blue and white, I will not buy it, regardless of the design. Agreed Blue and amber quarters looks good. Blue and white quarters home kit, white and blue away kit. Who would play skins against Bristol Rovers? Laced collars don't work. The collar would need to be like the round buttoned collar that Newcastle had a few years ago.
