his remit was to get us up reguardless of the costs.
He did that, the board are just as much to blame for the signing and then paying off of lots of players.

But paying up a portion of their remaining contracts would alleviate the wage cap situation - but leave us short of readies in the short term. Wage cap and readies being two different issues.
We're attempting to compete in Division 4 on a non-league turnover - that's the problem.

I'm pleased that even GP can't go spending money we haven't got. How can Lincoln make £700k profit on a similar fan base to us - presumably because they're not paying inflated wages? They're not doing too badly on it.
The wage cap is there to protect clubs from themselves and to create some sort of level playing field.
