... With Langmead upfront on his for the first half, admittedly we created our best chances of the game in the first half despite Darlo having the possesion. I thought we would go for Darlo from the off rather than sitting back and soaking up the pressure they were putting onto us. Ryan Lowe was cack, terrible mistake by Whitehead for there second, and there GK was in good form blocking out our best chances. Top stadium, top supporters bar, £1 a pint , hot food was Roast pork & Beef baps plus the usual chips etc on the menu, all served within the supporters bar too PS. i take back my posts re: the parking at Darlo the fiver was value for money for what was returned in the price of the food & Drink

According to Gary Peters the game plan was to contain them in the first half (4-5-1)and change it to 4-4-2 for the last half hour to get a result. Obviously did'nt work today.

Langmead was very isolated and thought we needed to play 4-4-2. IF GP was defensive minded he could have done this by dropping Tolley and playing Sedge and MOC.
Mind you both Darby and especially Lowe were e when they came on.

Largely Peter's tactics worked. We created chances today even at 4-5-1 while stifling Darlington in the large part. It's very easy to suggest 4-4-2 would have given us more in attack but at the same time it could have seen them break through a lot more.

I thought that considering Darlo ahd the majority of the posession in the first half they only created one decent chance - admittedly they scored from it.

Come to Darlo and go for the win then it will result in a Darlo win, we seem to be better when teams do this, it leaves more room at the back and when you have players like Hignett, Armstrong and Wijnhard, teams will be punished

Well they were existant enough on Saturday weren't they? Apart from Wijnhard, who was injured.
Whats all this about you lot restricting us well, containing us etc? We were playing how we wanted to play and toying with you for the entire 90 minutes. Yes you had 2 or 3 chances to score, but lets be honest you're always going to create a couple of opportunities no matter how poor you are.
There was a big gulf in class and we could have stepped up another gear if we needed to. But we didn't need to, it was the easiest, most relaxed 90 minutes of the season.
Which was nice revenge, seeing as you beat us f..f...ff..ff (can't even say it) nil a few weeks ago.

how many clear cut chances did you have (and no you cant count a the 3 you had in the one move ) sounded like you had most of the possesion, whilst we had some of the better chances...

Gary should admit that he got his tactics wrong. Graham Taylor wasn't much of an England manager but he was spot on when he talked about the 4-5-1 formation on the radio on Sunday. It's only going to work if the midfield get forward and support the loan striker. Otherwise, you are inviting the opposition on to you. It's pointless playing a 19-year-old, short of goals, against four defenders. Also, on another point, how many times do sides score on the break against us? It happens far too often. And how many times do we score on the break against teams? It happens far too little.
