"The Manchester United striker was substituted when the Shrews disposed of Everton 2-1 in the FA Cup third round last season. Apparently, he failed to make an impact in one of the big cup shocks of last year because he couldn't get to grips with the surface." cant remeber the pitch being that bad against Everton, they were just s**te. "This was a game devoid of the poise and precision passing that supporters love to watch." -Boston play precissioon passing??? Or precision hoof ball? "Flair players could not run with the ball.... both keepers found it hard to handle shots on the floor because of the bobbles." -Aiston had no problems running with the ball, and it sounded like Abbey was just being his usual clowney self. "Evans' play-off chasing side kept things tight at the back and made sure they played in the right areas." -Now I know he's blind! "There will be doom-mongers who say they should beat teams like Shrewsbury." -How long have the cheating crapheads been in the league??? "To say Shrewsbury's pitch was nothing short of a disgrace would be a huge understatement." -Obviously havent noticed the river severn running about 10 meters away from the ground. Think the star would struggle to write a worse article!!!

That's taking the p**s, it really is. Howie had no problems all afternoon. Their clown of a keeper flapped at everything and his kicking was awful.
"A downpour just before kick off"
I was outside from half 2 onwards and it drizzled for 5 mnustes just before kick off. I'm sure I would have noticed a downpor standing on the Wakeman .

The comment about flair players made me laugh, Boston's style of play has absolutely no room for any skilled type of player....HOOF.

Shocking article, even 12 months out with the Everton references But I have been surprised by how bad our pitch has looked for the last month. There have been no floods, and we have not had that much rain. The drainage must be worse than other years

The pitch is poor at the moment. I'm guessing that with the impending move to San Salopia the investment in pitch care and maintenance as been kept to an absolute minimum. Shouldn't be an excuse for those Boston hillbillies though, the ball spends most of the time in the air.

The problem on saturday wasn t so much the muddy conditions but the lack of grass.Considering its only played on ,on an average every fortnight plus a few reserves it is atrocious.Park pitches that are played on 3-4 times at a weekend have more grass than the meadow.would agree though we re hardly likely to fork out big bucks when we`re moving house!

Who can blame Boston? I can't believe your having a pop at a team for playing long balls at the Meadow where the pitch resembles a ploughed field? Why try and play decent football, it isn't going to work. Darlo tried it and got battered. Bristol tried to cope (taking into consideration what happened to Darlo) but they also suggested before kick off that they wouldn't be trying to play decent football on the Meadow surface. Please don't criticise the tactics used by opposition teams who visit the Meadow, when we give them a decent surface to play football on maybe that’s when they will try to do so?

Boston play long ball everywhere though... You could provide Boston with the finest playing surface in Europe and you would atill end up with neck ache after 90 minutes.

Whatever the style of the opposition we have to admit that our pitch is an embarrassment and we will have to endure justified criticism until it improves.
As we have several players who like to run with the ball it is not doing us any favours.

The pitch was stupidly bumpy on Saturday.
In previous seasons the surface has always semed excellent, this year it has been very poor and it isn't likely to improve soon with the number of home games coming up.
However Boston can use it as no excuse. I doubt they strung one pass togther along the ground all game.

The pitch is poor, of that there is no doubt.
However I agree with the thoughts on the Boston side too - they're not going to play football whatever the surface.
