Well- it's not completely O/T- I'm talking about having a more efficient and easier way to get to matches- that is- in the car- the one I pay half towards!!!! I'm too much of a wimp, I've decided!! I need assertiveness training- and how!!! Mr Wiggy doesn't want me to take the car to Shrewsbury- yet he was happy for me to drive to Liverpool when I worked there!! He's running out of excuses! The main one seems to be that he feels HE can't do without a car even for say 5 hours at the most! My daughters won't let their men control them. It must be a generation thing!! I've got a book on assertiveness out of the local library- and I'm determined to learn how. The train isn't bad- but the car would give me far more freedom- and scope. My grandchildren are happy enough to let me drive them, when they're staying here. I'm not an awful driver, I know the way to Shrewsbury like the back of my hand! Fighting talk!! Who's going to bet on me arriving at the Meadow in the car before the end of the season!! (Well- Abbey Forecourt car-park, that is!!)

Wiggy, tell the other half that you would like to try the car a couple of times just for comparison with publiuc services, that by travelling independently you are not at the mercy of the timetables and delays that are currently rife. You will also be more able to react to different situations i.e family emergencies that need to be acted upon at once or errands of mercy that occasionally occur. You may also wish to remind him that you have both been in a partnership for a long time and it's about time he acknowledged that fact. Lastly , pop out to the newsagent and buy a copy of Autotrader and leave it hanging around ,when he enquires as to it's purpose you can casually say you are thinking of buying a little run around
