He's very often seen around El Baco and occasionally brings a few friends around South Shropshire Not sure if they would be interested in tiles though

I think it was Spielberg who described him as Britain's finest actor. Absolute top bloke, unusally for a lovie he doesn't take himself too seriously and remains a man of true principles.

Pete's a brilliant actor. In the film "brassed off" he'd got the character of the band leader to a T. My eldest daughter played in a Brass band- "Trinity Girls' Brass Band and their band leader was just like the one Pete played in the film. Pity he's not coming to the Meadow, though. Famous people at work?- not VERY famous- when I was teaching full time, we had a few authors coming in to school. Brian Jaques- Scouse author- and the writer and illustrater of the Oxford Reading Tree books. Some of the Everton team- but reserves. When I was at Crewe, doing my teaching course, managed to stage a performance with Roger McGough, Mike McCartney and John Gorman- who were then a Satire Group called The Scaffold. You'd have to be as old as me to remember them, probably!!

I have had the pleasure of talking to Robbie Keane and Kevin Muscat at work a couple of years ago. Also Bert Williams (England and Wolves goalkeeper of the fifties) and Jack Taylor (ref of the 1974 World Cup final.) Wiggy, I went to Crewe and Alsager too, probably twenty years after you were there though.

I used to play in the same sunday league teams as Guy Whittingham and Andy Awford, later on I was in the same team as Andy Preece who I know very well. One of my 1st jobs was in Worcester where I worked with the legendary Dudley Tyler (he of Hereford Utd and West Ham Utd fame), 1st player as a pro to play with a hole in his heart - top man.

Had a chat with him one night in BC in the indian, he could hardly speak he was that sozzled, but he was well impressed with the beer & pubs in BC Bishop's Castle! God bless that place Erm...met Ian Rush at wembley and met Mark 'Sparky' Hughes on a train going down to Carmarthen. Top Bloke. Met simon weston (the falklands war hero) on the train coming back from work once-a really inspiring bloke and a positive role model. And an ex-girlfriend lives a few 100 yards from Boycie! That kinda counts
