What the hell does he think he's doing? Further proof that we should have cut off their heads 200 years ago like the French did.

Poor taste, wrong decision to wear it but media are going far too far, as usual. For a decent report on it, have a look at Bild (www.bild.de) - take it in the spirit it should be. Oh, you may need to translate that

Did we cut the heads off the French 200 years ago?
Where did all those smelly arrogant replacements come from then?

I think it's caused offence because the 60th anniversary of the holocaust is coming up.

I come from a jewish (not practising) background, my grandmother and her family was directly affected by the rise of Hitler etc... lost everything and went from being wealthy to coming to England nigh on a refugee.
Am I taking offence???
Nope, I can see it for what it was, a bit of fun, yes not of the best taste perhaps. But still a bit of fun.
He's said he's sorry that should be the end of it. There is little or no need for the sun and jewish "leaders" to milk it.
A rabbi made the best point (an article in guardian) "yes he was wrong, but he's said he is sorry. Its time to move on" or something like that

But were they 3rd in line to the throne, and about to become an officer in the British army? I re-state my point. Wether or not individuals (Jew or Gentile) take offence is irrelevant. This moron has responsibilities that he, and most of the rest of his family, are incapable of living up to, Priviledge has it's price. It's about time this crew started to realise it

Can't believe some (sad) folk take such offence to sommat like this, a lot more in the world to worry about in my opinion than some chap of 20 making a bit of a faux pas...he said he's sorry, no harm done as far as I can see...done and dusted now int it?

It might not be offensive but it is was very very stupid.
I went to a party once where someone turned up dressed a Nazi, and half way through the party turned the music off and put a tape of the Nuremberg rallies on instead. That was a bit much to take.

I find it hilarious to be honest - the furore caused by this.
That said, whilst the lad may not like the position he is in and the responsibilities that come with it, he will reap the riches both now and in later life, so maybe I can understand some people's reactions to it.

As this was a private party, for invites only, I'm sure the "rich" kid who took the picture to sell it to the Sun to make a fast buck, is now off Harry's (and many others) Christmas list.
Should imagine he / she has closed a few doors in their social circle.

Certainly from my perspective. It's not a point of offending the "moral majority", that is the issue. It's just that this rather immature, and seemingly unintelligent young man, is happy to constantly lap up the benefits bestowed upon him, by accident of birth, yet finds it impossible to behave in a manner that those who pay for his lavish lifestyle may have a right to expect. It is imaterial whether he offends right, left or centre. The plain fact is he's always offending someone, purely because he appears not to give a damn, and believes that his regal position makes him immune from critisism by mere mortals

I can't believe the fuss made by some people because of this incident. He was stupid but i'm pretty sure we have all doen things we have later regretted. He's said he's sorry and that should be the end of it.

I cant help but feel he has been stitched up by cetain members of the press following that scuffle with the Photographer that time. The Headline in the papers around the world is Harry is a Nazi. When did he join any facist party?.The young lad has made a mistake in fancy dress, not even a good copy of an SS uniform.Young men do make thoughless mistakes and will learn from them.the person responsable for taking that sly picture may need to learn the same lesson as Harry. We all feel for the Jewish People for their loss,But remember a uniform does not kill people, the animal inside does.and i am no royalist either.

I amazed that so many are amazed that young Master Hewitt continues to make a complete prick of himself, he's just following his father's well trodden path of ignorance and stupidity.
Having said that, you really do begin to wonder who the hell advises these young people and whether or not they are being set up for the long term benefit's of other's and are to dull to see it for themselves.

I'm sorry but I am probably older than most of you on here and I find really upsetting that this young man with all his privileges and his family background could even find it remotely funny to go to a party in this fancy dress.
I was born after the war but have read, listened and watched much about the holocaust - and every time I do, my blood runs cold. The sign of a swastika makes me shudder. And remember it wasn't just the jews who were killed - it was any sort of minority.
When I hear or see racism of any kind, I always think it's first step on a very slippery path - correct me if I'm wrong but don't some of the far right wing parties use the swastika as a sign sometimes? Just think what they could do with a 'pirated' photograph of Harry.
I think he has been a typically stupid public school educated complete idiot who needs to grow up and pick his friends far more carefully. I don't care whether he aplogises or not but he better have a good explanation for his grandparents - I suspect like her ancestor the Queen will not be amused.
The sooner he starts doing something useful all of the time and not just occasionally the better he will be for it.

Its a fancy dress costume. Thats all.
Its not condoning the holocaust, hitler/the 3rd reich/anti-semetism.
I'm sure there are better things to worry about.
