Just a suggestion but maybe this scheme could be followed by some of the fans that we could sponsor the charity as well! What if some of us say we would give an amount - say £1 or even 50p - to the charity for each point we get....?

By following their example do you mean (a) Get PAID to do something you love. (b) Train for 3 to 4 hours a day doing something you LOVE (c) Get people to waste their money to see you not doing your job properly (d) err too many to mention...................... (e) Behave like a petulant pr@t letting down the rest of the team whilst they try to do their job properly. Waiting for the backlash, bring it on I say Oh & BTW I do give money to the charities that I wish, before we have any mud-slinging

That's a great idea too, or £1 every goal town score? it is a good idea to get the fans involed in these good causes also, S.T.F.C and their fans working together for a good cause.

S.T.F.C and their fans working together for a good cause. Couldn't agree more Ian. I will give £3 for a win and £1 for a draw for the rest of the season. Can't do anything on the organising side though, as I'm away from home much of the time

I'm happy to pull this together but i'm actually doing some work tomorrow for a change, so unfortunately not around for a press call, but anyway if we did launch the 'Fans Charity Inititive' later in the week a) it doesn't take away from the players spotlight which they undoubtedly deserve for this gesture, and b) by doing this later in the week 'Fans follow players charity example' it's another good PR hit in the paper!!!
What do we think will be the best way of doing this?
If we get a few of us I think this could really be a go-er -If we want to run with it, we (me?) get in touch with hope house - explain what we want to do and I can start collating a book of pledges - for either goals or points whichever anyone want to do (taking current totals as a baseline- 27 goals and 26 points) - together with contact details of those taking part.
We can collect at the end of the season....
What do people think???

I'm sure that £1 will be greatly appreciated Pilch Great idea Carter Probably make it easier to administer if you had a standard method (be it goals/ points/ wins) that supporters could register for. Then it would simply be number of fans registered x points or goals = charity fund Would you want to keep it B & A or open it up to all fans? Could give OSC raised profile whilst reminding decision makers at the club that there is unity and organisation in the supporter base? (and a resource worth consulting)

What an interesting thing to link fund-raising to. Could we link it to goals scored? And make a lottery out of it in some way with prizes that appealed to people who were not just football fans? Then there's a link with a wider circle of people within the town at both ends of the process - if you see what I mean.

I think the 'Fans Charity Inititive' idea sounds best. as you say, the credit shouldnt be taken away from the players.

That's a great idea too, or £1 every goal town score? The Kickers over here do that, if you sign up for the scheme then for each goal the Kickers score you pay a euro or sommat. Kickers keep the money, times are hard at the minute like...but that sounds a good idea that for raising cash for a charity... More will be raised through goals scored than for wins and draws I reckon... Oh aye, as Sean suggested...at the end of the season a lucky Kickers fan will win a weekend away in London, its a good idea to offer a draw prize if possible...

Great idea Carter, count me in on this, im up for a £1 a win 50p a draw, Perhaps we should see at the end of the season which works out more money win and draws or goals scored im happy to Donate which ever is the higher.
Should be Goals scored hopefully. which should mean we at least win a few more games and stay up.
Cheers Chris
