Does anybody know of any winter golfing deals in the area? (shrops/mid wales) My local course Kington are offering a day at £15 with a meal weekdays and £20 at weekends, a good deal as it is a great course (weather permitting)

Week before last I played at Telford (Great Hay), it was in nutse condition but cost £13.50 for the day, half the normal price. I also played at Cleobury Mortimer that week, that was a good course with three distinct loops of nine and some excellent holes, that was £15 for the day, again half the normal rate. I don't know if those rates are still on offer though. I would recommend you buy some 2fore1 vouchers, they are only £2.50 each and are accepted at loads of courses and do exactly what they say on the tin ;-) The rates I paid were local deals, not using 2-fore-1 vouchers www.2-fore-1golf.com/

underpar, Kington is an ace course, one of my top three. Playing Antrobus in Cheshire tomorrow. I cannot do those link things but this website is A1 for checking out courses, www.uk-golfguide.com

That little par 3 down the hill with water all around the back of the green is very tricky!
No, not played Wormsley, played Kington many years ago, can't remember much except the greens were lightning that day

Wormsley is recommended, not far from a place called Weobley. Favourite hole at Cleobury is the 19th ;D

Been to the Herefordshire a couple of times underpar. Last visit a couple of weeks ago, good course but a bit posh and expensive.

Agreed Hammerhill, turned up there one day and my mate had jeans on-got threw out of the clubhouse. Its a bit of an old school club, but a great course.

You boys are dead lucky. It's so hard to get a round of golf in down here due to a) lack of courses b) those courses that are there being bloody expensive c) the difficulty in transporting yourself and clubs to one of the courses. London isn't a golf friendly city for a poor student Still though - if any of you get the chance to play Hawkstone soon do it, it's a quality course (plus I scored well there )

Think how much money you could save Ant by not following that darn football team The money you save can be spent on playing golf on saturday afternoons. You can not have your cake and eat it. But its good fun trying. ;D

I can recommend a good course not far from Sutton Maddock called Chesterton Valley. It plays well all year round and as good drainage. If my memory serves me well, its not that expensive.

I'll ring up Meole tomorrow and see if I can book a couple of tee-off times then for next Sat afternoon. Seems to be plenty of interest in it.
