Has anybody found details of their first match in the book? Mine was 12th Sept 1970 (that I can remember), we beat Port Vale 7-3. The BOES report says....
"The 12th September derby with Port Vale was an explosive affair; crowd trouble, five booked, and the visitors keeper sent off late in the game, which also featured ten goals. Town won 7-3 with Terry Hughes scoring one, and winning two penalties"
Although I cant remember much about it, being 7 at the time, it must have been a hell of a match!!

I don't have the book but mine was early 80's i reckon against Newcastle when Keegan played for them (must have been 82-84 anyway). I recall that we lost 2-0 and i pitch invaded and jumped on keegan's back. He was my hero. I am a Liverpool fan and it was a big moment for me.

Nothing about fireworks that day, but Cuddocini may have a story to tell about them!

I am pretty sure the score was only 2-1 when the Vale keeper was sent of for hitting a Town player in the face with the ball. The resulting pen made the score 3-1.

Wigan at home 15/12/90. 0-0 and possibly the worst game of football ever. I somehow got hooked even though my next game was another tedious 0-0 against Rotherham!

Mine was against Cardiff. Thing is I can't remember if it was the 3-1 win on 20/3/76, or the Welsh Cup final 2nd leg win 3-0 on 18/5/77. I just remember we scored 3 goals, played in blue shirts amber shorts and socks, they played in red, there was scuffles in the Riverside, and a coppers hat was thrown on the pitch. Pretty sure it was the Welsh Cup game Anyway notice that "The Second Coming" has got the Welsh Cup on the season by season stats pages. Any help ref the game anyone?
