What's everyone reading at the mo? I've got Nick Hornby's 'About a Boy' which I have to say I like - has anyone read 'High Fedelity'? I may well get that next.
What about everyone else?

I'm reading "War in Words" letters, journals and diary extracts from people actually involved in WW1. When I need some light relief I dip into "Breathe on 'em Salop-the second coming"

If you like Chickenhawk, you'd like Tim O'Brien, if you haven't read his stuff. Or "Once a Warrior King" by David Donovan. All in the same vein.
Above all, I'd reccomend Lonesome Dove, by Larry McMurtry. Most enjoyable thing I've ever read.

Currently reading Ian Rankin's Resurrection Men. Another Rebus detective novel (set in Edinburgh). Detective novels are not something I ever used to read until I started on these, but they are addictive. Also looking at the second Breathe on em Salop on occasions

Just read Pattern Recognition by William Gibson, not bad, and finally got round to reading The DaVinci Code, which was better than I expected. No books to read now but I am going to Yokohama tomorrow so may have a chance to go to a big bookshop which sells English books

Reading Pompeii by Robert Harris at the min. A novel based around the eruption of Versuvius that destroyed the city of Pompeii. I'm three quarters if the way through and it's a superb book. Strange reading a novel where you know what the ending will be!! Next up for me is Bill Bryson's A Brief History of Everything...

I have just finished "Adrian Mole and the weapons of mass destruction" which was very good.
Just started Hugh Cornwell's autobiography this morning.
Keep picking up "The Pyschic World of Derek Acorah"
Still trying to find a time slot to read "Vodka" by Boris Starling. He's an excellent author (The Messiah TV shows don't do him justice at all) but you have to give up everything to keep track of what is going on in his books!! The way he wrote Messiah (in particular why "Messiah" was "Messiah") was absolutely brilliant!!

i bought Tim obriens book"IF I DIE IN COMBAT ZONE" it was boring so i didnt finnish it, it was like the thin red line as it was vey arty and excotic, where i like true life and gritty type of books.

Just finished 2 (like Sean I like to have a few on the go). Haruki Murakami's After the Quake and Atonement by Ian McEwen. I'd recommend any of Murakami's books if you haven't read any. Fantastic, surreal, sexy. Just about to start the new Iain Banks.
