Only 4 for me Would have been 5 but the Everton game was switched to a Sunday. I was godfather at my nephew's christening in the church at Harlescott, no getting out of that I did ask my Dad to take me to the Arsenal replay, but he made me go to school

The cup games of the early and mid 60s will make rich pickings for the highest gates at the Gay Meadow.
And not always against big sides, for instance 14,508 in 1967-68 season against Tow Low.
Looking through the record of the 1960s that was a special time in the club's history

Amazed that the Everton League Cup quarter final game of 1961 isn't in the top 10 and that more people came to watch Rotherham in the semi! In our early years in the League we averaged over 10,000 and my Dad would not take me to first team games because he was worried about the crush.
